First post: Wednesday of Week Five

Hey everyone. Thanks for tolerating yesterdat our new BFF ikarl67. He apparently is a bitter Iowa fan who is disgusted with me ranking the Hawkeyes at 22 in the most recent AP poll.

I kept telling him to email me and not subject himself to HOTTIE beat-downs. He eventually listened. Thanks to all for keeping it civil, though I had no idea you could be so creative with corn allusions.

Here's the Auburn situation at this moment:

Here's what the next few days look like. All times are CDT:

Wed., Sept. 30, 4:30 p.m. (Assistant coaches available afterward)
Thu., Oct. 1, 4:30 p.m. (Tiger Talk at 7 p.m.)
Fri., Oct. 2, OFF
Sat., Oct. 3, at Tennessee, 6:45 p.m. (ESPN)
Sun., Oct. 4, 5 p.m.

Also, please pick up the Advertiser's print edition if you live around here! Our fine Auburn coverage is only one element of our award-winning product.

I googled Mary Louise Parker, too. Only semi-hot, imo. I happened to notice she had dated Adam Duritz from Counting Crows. How does that guy do it? He's dated her, Nicole Kidman, Courteney Cox, Jennifer Aniston, Winona Ryder, Laura Flynn Boyle, Gwen Stefani, and Christina Applegate, among others. I mean, look at the guy. I kind of understand the rock star thing, but he's not even in a good band.

Thanks Sensi , what would be ideal is for us to score 42. That would indicate that we have very strong support in the 37-41 range and are very unlikely to fall below that mark the entire season.

If we could score 42 on TN, then something between 43 and 53 on ARK, that would set us up to take out the old high of 54 against KY. That would all but guarantee that we go above 54 against LSU and keep going up from there. No overhead resistance at all.

Of course, at some point in the season there would be another pullback, but it would likely be something like pulling back from 78 down to 58 before heading north again.

I'd like to see us in the 88 range by the bammer game.

Blogger coosa said...

Looking at our opponent's stock is a little more troubling. We see the progression: 13-24-30-30. That was one ugly chart up until last week if you are short, which all of us are. But thankfully, it appears to have run into strong resistance at 30. If Ball State had managed 35, we would be in big trouble, but they didn't.

All we need now is to hold TN under 30 and this stock is confirmed as a dog that is headed back to test support at 13. And if that doesn't hold, its headed to 0.

Sure would be nice to see our stock peaking and the opponent stock crashing right about the bammer game.

I'm suddenly excited about TA and AU football. If we could beat TN 42-28, then I'm ignoring all FA the rest of the season and becoming a strict technician.

So these people who write me ... they are the best of the best. You've got to respect them. It takes dedication, heart and drive to do this. I respect them.

Jay, I do hope you caught my brilliant suggestion yesterday. You can avoid any controversy over where you rank Iowa by simply not including them in your vote.

Heard on the radio by my son-in-law in Nashville...

I was listening to the local sports talk morning show, and the UT beat writer was on. He was talking a bit about Tennessee and the upcoming game, then he turned to Auburn. He told us that Auburn has a special package for its back-up quarterback to run, so look out for Neil Caudle to get in there blaze past the UT defense.... never thought that Neil "Peg-leg" Caudle would merit the concern of a top-tier SEC defense for his ability to run.

5:06 PM
Blogger WarEagleRK said...

Cincy,

I'm guessing the back up QB they are talking about is Kodi and the package is the wildcat.

Do not under estimate the Neil. If I recall correct, the Neil leads the team in terms of yards per carry. Neil is to be feared.

5:13 PM
Blogger WarEagleRK said...

I just figure it is a UT beat writer and they read that the back up is Caudle and heard that we use a different QB in the Wildcat.

He's probably never seen our games this year so that was a guess on his part.

I doubt Caudle showed them enough on one run last week to have a package for him.

5:21 PM
Blogger WarEagleRK said...

That and I'm sure a UT beat writer wouldn't get the scoop on that before someone who covers Auburn gets it.

5:22 PM

Don't be surprise if Caudle pulls the interception long run trick again. I think both plays caught Ball State by surprise.

Interesting comments on the article SFC linked on the Sanders decommit.

The current mindset of the Bama fanbase sounds suspiciously like the Ronnie Cottrell era. I seem to recall similar dismissive comments made when Demarco McNiel chose AU over Bama.
