EARLY player comments
Hey everyone. A few players stopped by to speak with reporters before practice today. Here are a few "highlights" as they are.

- CB Walt McFadden on his injured knee (not an ankle): ``I'm going to get it cleared up by Wednesday hopefully. I'm trying to run on my own, trying to do a couple of things, but I really don't know what's going to happen."
- McFadden on his teammates mobbing him after making the interception that injured his knee: ``Zac Etheridge, he was hitting me all in the head, saying 'Good interception, good interception.' I was screaming on the ground and he was jumping all over me. I was telling him: 'Back up, back up.' He basically told me to get off the ground -- Don't let them see you hurt. I appreciate everything he had done because I was fixing to lay on that ground awhile."
- OL Ryan Pugh on reasons for Arkansas problems: ``We can make up all the excuses in the world, we just didn't come out and play very well. We didn't prepare ourselves mentally and physically in the week. The coaches gave us a good game plan. We just went out and didn't execute the things that we've been executing all the year."
- On why that happened: ``A lack of focus. I think we let our focus slip a little bit during the week, and we didn't come out and play as good as we wanted to."
- OL Mike Berry on preparations this week: ``I think the mood's been good. The loss was definitely a shock for us, but like Coach Chizik said it can either be the best thing that could happen to us or the worst thing. I feel like it gave us a chance to refocus. I feel like we're preparing hard for Kentucky."

Flipped.
Flip reverse it.
Yo yo ... I have to write a story about AC's summit with Corleone, uh, Chizik for tomorrow's newspaper.
I'll add player quotes around 9 and a video around 10.
Keep it here for all your Auburn needs.
Thanks for calling Digger!!!!!!
Eddie,
I missed last week, but won't miss this week just in case it was my fault for not listening that we lost.
RK- Just listen this week :)!!!!!
Thanks for calling Steve!
Thanks to calls from Digger, Brock, Jim (the Bammer), and SteveFC.
The rest of you have 30 minutes to join the fun. 646-649-1890
Looks like the former coach at UK is gonna get over 2M from the Wildcats..
UK
Folks keep saying we don't have the players to blitz. We've got 11 dudes on the field, send 5 or 6 of them. Not every time mind you, but sometimes.
Agree ehyou.
Here's a thought for consideration or discussion ...
In the last 100 years, each of the state's major public universities were driven by a singular figure.
Both twisted rules and bullied others to promote their agendas. Both fought unmercifully to create programs in their own image and overshadowed their institutions from time to time.
They played hard and for keeps. They each had success in their professional fields. One left on his accord and died a month later. The other is hanging on and now faces legal inquiry for his life's work away from the institution.
One was a coach and athletic administrator. One was a booster and trustee who held great sway who would be coach and administrator.
One is revered. One is reviled. But how different were they? What's the legend? What's the reality?
I'll let the law handle the law. But I think it's a fair question to ask.
I don't really have a problem with Lowder's handling of the football program.
He was right about getting rid of Bowden, even though you could argue he was the reason Bowden was there to begin with.
Same thing with Tuberville..
I do have a problem with what he is reported to have done to some campus departments. Now that is strictly from an outsider perspective.
But on balance I guess he has been a positive force for Auburn.
As Petrino (re)gains national stature during the next few seasons, remember that Lowder correctly identified him as a superstar and had him wrapped up.
Exactly Jay G.
Jay G makes an excellent point.
New thread UPZ.
Nice show guys. I decree you not idiots.
Is this thread over?
I think so.
