EARLY player comments

Hey everyone. A few players stopped by to speak with reporters before practice today. Here are a few "highlights" as they are.

  • CB Walt McFadden on his injured knee (not an ankle): ``I'm going to get it cleared up by Wednesday hopefully. I'm trying to run on my own, trying to do a couple of things, but I really don't know what's going to happen."

  • McFadden on his teammates mobbing him after making the interception that injured his knee: ``Zac Etheridge, he was hitting me all in the head, saying 'Good interception, good interception.' I was screaming on the ground and he was jumping all over me. I was telling him: 'Back up, back up.' He basically told me to get off the ground -- Don't let them see you hurt. I appreciate everything he had done because I was fixing to lay on that ground awhile."

  • OL Ryan Pugh on reasons for Arkansas problems: ``We can make up all the excuses in the world, we just didn't come out and play very well. We didn't prepare ourselves mentally and physically in the week. The coaches gave us a good game plan. We just went out and didn't execute the things that we've been executing all the year."

  • On why that happened: ``A lack of focus. I think we let our focus slip a little bit during the week, and we didn't come out and play as good as we wanted to."

  • OL Mike Berry on preparations this week: ``I think the mood's been good. The loss was definitely a shock for us, but like Coach Chizik said it can either be the best thing that could happen to us or the worst thing. I feel like it gave us a chance to refocus. I feel like we're preparing hard for Kentucky."

From previous thread "Why is "Muskrat Love" running through my head all of a sudden? Somebody needs to make a Tebow/Meyer video using that song."

A song by Auburn Alum Toni Tennill and her husband, Daryl. Has she been back to campus since she did A-Day in '88 ?

I'm sure Forbes won't have to worry about a libel suit with this article.

Just don't understand how some AU folks can know all of this and still give Lowder a pass. Are they beholden to him? ..afraid because of their political or business situation?... embarrassed that they were duped?.. just won't admit that they are OK taking that devil's money and that the money trumps anything else done to AU? ...or have no pride and don't care about silly stuff like this?

I need someone to follow me around and tell when I am joking...

I nominate Salsa Shark for that task.

digger,

Between the Fuzzy Duck and the Oasis on the Drive......now those were two "interesting" places.

But seriously, I am in PF's camp. Thanks for the money, ole Bobby boy!

And I still sing it as API. No wait, I can't sing.

You couldm't move or hardly breath at the Oasis. Packed full on Friday and Saturday nights.

All Alma Maters sound like the Kellerman's song on Dirty Dancing.

6:24 PM
Blogger michael said...

OK, time to be controversial.

I dislike the Auburn Alma Mater. It puts me to sleep and does not move me in any way.

There, I said it.

Blogger IV said...

Money, money, money, PF, Michael and I think alike.

6:25 PM

Of course I have to think like Michael, or he will call me Tim.

Kristina, Is Michael kidding?

Where is Kristina when we need her?

Joking about Lowder a little bit (though I really am glad he gave all that money, because they built a lot of buildings with it. I don't think Auburn would be where it is today without him. But yeah, he is evil).

Not joking about the alma mater... sorry fellas.

Michael - doesn't move you at all!?!? You might as well put the houndstooth hat back on your messed up head.

6:29 PM
Blogger Quitstina said...

I am only required by contract to say when he is kidding. I am not required in anyway to infer whether he is serious only in that I do not reply that he is kidding.

6:29 PM

Kristina, Is Michael joking?

6:30 PM
Blogger FSJ said...

Can you say that in English zookeeper?

And that is the letter of the law and she's sticking to it

Did you ever go to the Jungle when it was open?

I think the same guy owned it that owned the Oasis.

6:32 PM
Blogger Tar Heel Tiger said...

well, I'm serious. I'm going downstairs and eat up all the dessert leftovers. They've had plenty of time to get whatever they wanted.

Thread killer.

One time in the student section, someone yelled at me to take my hat off during the alma mater. I readjusted my hat, leaving it on, and gave the guy a thumbs up and a big smile.

Sorry gang. But hey, we can all agree on puppets, right?

No I never made the Jungle. My favorite watering hole was Top of the River before they closed the bar area to make more room for Diners.

IV out for awhile. Got my high school class chat session coming up in a bit. Can you imagine what a bunch of 70 year olds gab about? I mean those of us that are left that don't fall asleep in front of our computers. Be glad you are not subjected to that.

I have never been big on sports media being biased but I just watched abc 33/40 sports. Man raita used the A.C. comments like this team was falling apart. Mentioned how dissatisfied Alabama was with the NCAA. Didn't mentioned the harsh comments ncaa made about Alabama. I am starting to see just how biased this state really can be.

Toni Tennille also did some back up work on Pink Floyd's The Wall. Muskrat Love is considered by most (namely me) to be the low point in her career.
