Tennessee: WTH?

Hey everyone. The fun keeps on coming.

ESPN now is reporting that Lane Kiffin, the affable Tennessee coach, has agreed to a deal with Southern Cal. So he'd be gonzo from Rocky Top.

How bummed are Tennessee fans?

I don't expect you to be sympathetic. Auburn fans and (our few resident) Alabama sympathists have this in common: Feeling at least moderate disdain toward UT.

Next coach at UT? Thoughts?

I think UT probably sends big time feelers out to Gruden. I would not be 100 percent surprised to see if they kicked the tires on Tony Dungy (who has been mentioned in the USF opening).

Calhoun was almost hired at UT, but they went with Kiffin. He was a close, close second. Don't be fooled by the academy football he has to play at Air Force, he is smart, smart football coach.

Kiffin would give me a heart attack as an AD trying to make sure my program stays off the NCAA's radar, though.

Peter: How many cases of Beast Light have you had tonight?? 'Roids make every athlete stronger, faster, better. McGwire could hit HRs w/out roids but he hit allot more with them.

And just look how fast and powerfullly I'm typing - it's the HGH laced PBR.

PF: Steve says he's actually not an authority. I'd trust him on that. I have it on good authority he's not.

Thanks API. I was thinking it was LSU, but was uncertain.

As for Bama, one of their more successful coaches early last century left for Duke, if I recall correctly.

Isn't Auburn playing on ESPN Thursday? I thought someone mentioned that.

Comm'r, yeah, but the help with someone like him isn't so much power. He's always had power. He hit a lot of homers long before he got all jacked up, so he didn't need a lot more power. He needed more stamina and recovery time, which the juice gave him. I'm not saying it didn't increase his power, just that that wasn't necessarily that great of benefit for someone like him. Others, yes.

Steve that would be Wallace Wade.

9:58 PM
Blogger Unknown said...

Thanks FSJ. You are right. That is the name I was thinking of. I ran across it because there was actually a Rose Bowl played at Duke back during WWII. I believe Wade was the Duke coach.

Just look what happened to Tubberville when he stopped juicing. Lost 15lbs of muscle and his game went to shit. Good to see he's back on regular cycles for this Texas Tech gig. He'll need it.

Yeah..I believe Wade took UA and Duke to the Rose Bowl.

Their stadium is named after him. A road is named after him next to the UA stadium.

Apparently nobody payed attention to what Al Davis had to say about Kiffikin. He is apparently still a hot commodity.

I just couldn't imagine the Rose Bowl being played in Durham, but it was apparently because they feared a Japanese attack on the west coast at any large gathering.

Steve,
Screw you with you Liar and Grow Up comments. Nobody asked you anything in that situation, but you posted multiple responses. You think that doesn't make you look like you have knowledge as an authority, fine, but don't be shocked when I post a sarcastic comment about it. You've called me out as a liar more than once when I've been able to go back and prove that was I was saying was right. What do you do? Run away and pretend the conversation never happened. Take some of your own advice.

No worries guys. My first taste of infighting on the blog.

I've been more of a reader then a poster for a few years. Just got into posting on here with any regularity because it's a pretty normal Auburn crowd void of annoying folks.

That being said, the UK game needs to hurry up so I can see sports center.
