Radio Appearance Forthcoming

Hey everyone. I will be participating in my weekly segment on SuperSport 930 out of Jackson, Miss., in a bit. That extravaganza will begin around 9:07 a.m. CST. There will be a podcast later in the day in case you miss the fun.

It typically streams live, but it apparently is malfunctioning this morning. Bummer.

UPDATE: J-Kev says he's working on a solution.

SECOND UPDATE: It's working now.

Oh, and for Scott Coats: at the risk of inflating an ego, the bulk of our listeners say "Hatin' with Jay G" is their favorite segment.

I actually like yard work. I enjoy being outside and I love having a nice yard. I do however hate trimming the bushes, but I do loved trimmed bushes. Take that however you would like.

Hoopie, you live in Cartersville? My company has an office there. I've been a couple of time. I will be there next month. Maybe we can go grab a beer and some wings one night.

11:20 AM
Blogger CHB said...

I hope nothing bad happens with the weather, but you know if a tornado strikes they will interview some of the campers at Talledega. They will pick the dirtiest and dumbest people to put on national TV. It reminds me of Jeff Foxworthy's old stand up routine.

A buddy and I have a bet that says who ever gets on TV 1st after some sort of disasters has to say..."It was pandalerium, I thought we'd be kilt or even worse. All I could think about was Carol still had my casserole dish".

Did you say "it was like a war zone"? That seems mandatory in reports along those lines. As if these people had been to a war zone, I highly doubt it.

Speaking of reporting; it always bugs the fool out of me when the news reports on a local murder (wherever I happen to be, it doesn't matter) and they interview someone who says "he didn't deserve to die like this..." is that to imply that there's someone out there who DOES deserve to die like that. They just guilty of cap'tal ignunce.

Forgive me Hotties for I have sinned. I listened to Finescum yesterday. I did get some interesting info out of it. If any of you listen occasionally you have heard of "The Legend". He is 100% walmartian and loves to bash Auburn. He says that a friend of his is a high school basketball coach in Memphis. This coach told him that Barbee would be a recruiting machine for Auburn. Says that Barbee has strong ties to AAU in Memphis specifically and the southeast in general. The way he made it sound is that between KU, Memphis and AU the southeast would be on lock down.

Harrison, you just described the physical plant of roughly one third of the public broadcast TV stations in the US.

Re: lottery winner - several years ago a biker gang in FL won the Lotto grand prize on a shared ticket. The local TV station news story about their good fortune ended with several of the winners driving off in a 1979 Z-28 with their windows rolled down, while they waved fistfuls of cash at onlookers. I am so totally doing that if I ever win.

Re: tornados in the news - my brother's apartment was destroyed in a twister that hit Troy, AL on the night of March 29, 1981. The next morning, he was interviewed by a CBS news crew, who informed him that he would be in the lead story in that night's broadcast of the CBS Evening News. But then something else happened, and the tornado story never aired.

Wow, three HABOTN topics in one thread, all (somewhat) connected to my profession. What are the odds?

The tornado talk reminds me of April 3, 1974. Mom was taking us to grandma's house. We are walking to the car. I notice in the distance behind the house that there is a tornado. I say "Look Mom, a tornado". Well, I was about 10 years old at the time, but proud of my keen observation abilities.

What was my mother's response? Did she thank me? No. Did she look? No. Her response was "shut up and get in the car". Man, I am getting pretty misty thinking about it.

Of course, when mom got in the car, she noticed the tornado too. There were over a dozen in Alabama that day.

No worries, PF. I got on my big boy pants today. I can handle Denver taking the heat.

Besides, from a technical standpoint, my two favorite NFL teams are Tennessee and Denver, but it's still just pro ball to me. I basically watch on Sunday's b/c it's football and it's on television.

It's not a great passion of mine or anything. I watched like five minutes of the draft last night...tops.

That said, I like Tebow just fine and I'll be pulling for the guy to spit in Mel Kiper's face. But I ain't gonna lose sleep over it.

3:39 PM

Why would I ever go to Reno?
