Jay Jacobs speaks again on Tuberville
Jacobs was on "Tiger Talk" tonight. Here is what he had to say about the chronology of Tuberville's resignation:
He showed me his plans possibly for the next coordinators. When he got through with that, he said, `What do you want me to do?' I said, `I want you to do whatever you think is best.' I was thinking he was thinking about the coordinators. I didn't know. He said, `Ten years is a long time.' He said he would talk to Suzanne and think about it.' He came back yesterday and said he thought the best thing for him and his family was to resign."

To quote a famous Auburn man, Sir Charles...
The administration just needs to shut the hell up.
aka AU Mom
Coordinators? as in more than one?
Jay,
I know its been tough week for you...make sure to grab some Yuenglings during the games on Sat.
Jay, you looking forward to covering the Tide this weekend? I think you should wear your HABOTN shirt!
What happened to everyone?
I thought he said CTT never got around to bring him a plan for improvement? Did I hear that wrong this morning?
A list of OC and a comprehensive plan for improvement are different, I would think.
The speculation is over. Time to move on.
No more 6. No more orange. No more Jungle.
No more genuine family atmosphere.
No more Bar BQ.
No more gettin' "better and better".
I quess the word 'plans' as in 'plans for the next coordinators' makes me think he presented more than a list.
NO MORE MR NICE GUY!
-Alice Cooper
Could be, but as you can see Muschamp has sucked the fun out of the room. I guess the only BBQ left in town will be at Mike and Ed's. Good thing I preferred Navy because apparently orange is out too.
Coordinators. Plural.
I'd heard talk that Rhoads would not be back in 09. I guess this is confirmation.
Yeap Muschamp what's done is done. JJ and Gouge are the only big shoulders left to carry the burden
Plus, Tommy is not a guy to sit down with a PowerPoint presentation.
The idea of Tuberville laying out a "plan" makes me grin. That's not Tommy at all.
Why are some of guys so oppossed to orange?
Jay on a scale of 1-10 how bad does this look from your professional, non-fan perspective?
What could these plans have entailed? I mean, beyond hiring new people?
"Well, we will work harder in two-a days and in the spring. Uhhh... we will recruit harder. We will just try really really hard. K?"
That is odd about Rhodes
Go for Chavis I say.
No more "I believe in Auburn".
No more calling Finebaum and telling him your every move.
No more People's Choice this and that.
No more Tuberville can't win the big one.
No more Wingnut, my personal unfavorite as it makes fun of the man's rather charming ears.
No more catfish.
I wasn't ready for this...
You have to be ready for these things.
Michael, for some reason when I imagine Tub talking to JJ about the plan it's just him reiterating his press conferences and JJ looking like he's hanging on every word.
I'd heard talk that Rhoads would not be back in 09. I guess this is confirmation.
I was not wild about his defense but talk about not giving someone a chance. With the Offense the way it was and injuries on defense looks like he earned at least one more year. CTT must have seen something there with his D he didn't think was fixable.
How bad does this look?
Maybe a 4 out of 10.
As resignations go, it's par for the course. What you have to watch for is the other end ... when Auburn hires the next guy.
If that payment situation goes beyond $10 million total, look out.
tf44 ... I didn't mean to insinuate he would be fired.
I just think he was ready to move on.
Oh there will be a large sum of money and a ridiculous candidate here and there. And then the gaudy hire.
My bad Jay. He was ready to move on after one year. That speaks volumes unless it was a move up.
I sure hope we know soon. The ESPN ticker during the Rutgers game said we were up to 5 decommits. It would be great if the new HC had time to recruit a few of 'his' type players.
tf44, I wasn't high on his defense either. I know he had to plan around a lot of injuries, but geez. I guess I like to see the D playing like their hair is on fire.
BigCat, I think we'll make before the holidays...that should leave some time to shore up recruiting.
Jay around what time would we light up the fire tonight?
I don't expect this search to drag beyond 10 days. God, I hope not.
It's a trying time for fans and reporters.
I'm headed home. Talk with you all a little later.
Whats the odds of Muschamp coming. He is the main target. If he will leave, he's the guy.
Parkerkb. I agree, JJ just shut up. Sounds almost like he wants to exonerate himself.
Will's not the main target. He's not interested. I mean, I should know. Right?
If we don't get Brian Kelly or Butch Davis, we might as well go ahead and try to bring Tuberville back.
Just Win I'm with you about the D. I want to see guys bringing the wood and carring a with major attitudes when they get there.
That would be classic if the search firm came back with CTT as the best candidate for the job. Then AU had a big press conference like he was a brand new coach. Welcome to Bizarro World.
Just like last week, I think we all know that if you can get to JPW you can really rattle him, how many times did we blitz? I would take the chance of us getting beat deep a few times if we are getting after the QB!
Jay, forgive the reference to another news article, but Tony Barnhart is seriously worried about AU in his daily column. His columns normally discuss 5 "mini-points". Today is all AU and he says Tubs will land on his feet and AU....probably not.
What about Boise State's coach. Young, good offense, successful. Maybe we could even install an orange field.
bigcat I just laughed out loud. good one.
Yea JW I'm sure Rhodes is a great teacher but he seemed to favor containment defense. I would have sent DBs and LBs at JPW till he thought they were coming off the sidelines.
justwin, they didn't have to throw enough for us to have many chances to blitz.
Regarding Emsmingers wife's comments about UA. been hearing a lot of chatter on that subject. Lot of smoke there. Jay, anyone sending up smoke signals on that subject.
Regarding Emsmingers wife's comments about UA. been hearing a lot of chatter on that subject. Lot of smoke there. Jay, anyone sending up smoke signals on that subject.
Look at CTT's creds...they are perfect for AU. OK..we need a young CTT clone with energy.
Rhoads did do better against GA than muschamp. A lot better.
If I was Jim I would have ended up woosing out to jenna fisher
True tf44, but when they did throw it we should have had someone on him.
I like the idea of Chris Petersen but he'd have to leave that dang colored field up there. Everytime I watched Boise I thought my TV was going out or something.
Hoopie, it will be hard to replace CTT, the person. I wish that we would have had a better year and he still had the "fire".
nothing interesting on flight aware tonight...
BlogTom - something shady is going on at Bama. I just hope they keep doing it so they get caught.
any chance we get Cotton back?
This may be old news, but I just read that Texas tech will be renegotiating Leach's contract this year. So I'm sure he will be showing interest in every job out there to get that figure up.
Just read Petersen's bio. He's been a WR & QB coach as well as an OC! I think he's my new flavor of the day for HC
I saw where Cotton said no Tuberville, no Cotton
We haven't offically lost Cotton. He and Lutz... are taking a wait and see approach
I've generally stayed out of this discussion, but I'm not going to any longer...
I find it amusing that when Tuberville was whipping Shula's arse in state it was because he was outworking him.
However, when Saban is whipping Tuberville's arse, it's because he is buying players.
Interesting how that works.
I don't understand what "official" means when it comes to a verbal commitment, but Raymond Cotton himself said there was no chance of him playing at Auburn now.
I heard that interview and I believe the guy.
What about you Jay --- TOATLLY true or not?
I havent seen any 'offical' reports of Cotton decommitting from his verbal and that list was at 5 last time I heard.
What do you think Mike Leach would talk about at the Montgomery Auburn Club meeting in the summer at the shriner's temple?
Easy Biscuit...
PIRATES.
Harrell says 'great chance' Leach will leave
http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/APStories/stories/D94S90NG1.html
fsj any chance they play the pirates of the carribbean trilogy?
hey that didnt come through on the dallas morning news story
Leach+ Auburn = Bad Fit
It would be like Oklahoma hiring Howard Schellenberger
Once again, comment 69
Biscuit...
I also heard that Leach gives dating advise on his coach's show...
Neuheisel used to take requests for Jimmy Buffett on his radio show when he was at Colorado. (He played the guitar)
I heard some of Mike Leach's dating advice on the radio this morning. That was some of the funniest stuff I've heard.
Anyone seen this site. Funny.
www.keepleach.com
argh matie. shiver me timbers,,,yo ho ho and a dead mans chest.
barkley, what radio station was playing that?
wait, mike leach went to the us sports academy in mobile? HA HA HA
JOX 94.5
Is it time for EVERYONE to say enough? I am soo tired! this whole week has worn me out.
Kudos to JG for working his @ss off for the entire episode. Kudos to all the Hotties for hanging in there.
Most of all, thanks to all the new posters!!
Let's all get some rest and begin a new day on a new horizon tommorrow!
Jay-G,
I know yoy took you're pay cut from the paper but I feel assured there is someway we can make it up to you. Thanks for all you have done!!
anyone see what olive tuberville said in the oa news...she still loves auburn, but said her son was fired not resigned!
Kristina, Jay, Facebook people.
Can I get in? i just sent a request to join.
Yea that's been the talk of the town here in Opelika
Yeah I read that.... She sure isn't buying Jay Jacobs story.
Olive,
Fired is when you work for General Motors for 10 yrs and on Friday they give you the pink slip w/no benefits or vacation!
Being released is when you get 5.1 Million Dollars for saying THANKS!!
There are quite a few people in this community with legitimate connections to the Tuberville family that aren't buying it.
Goodnight to all the HOTTIES!
Talk to you tommorrow!!
scout.com saying leach and auburn talks heating up
This comment has been removed by the author.
oh crap it just hit me...next year we don't get to do the cool arms locked thingy. now i am really sad...
Raymond Cotton can decomit all he wants to. His only other scholarship offers are Troy, Southern Miss, Kentucky, Miss. State and Purdue I believe. He'll be back.
i'm laying in bed, my beloved beside me snoring, reading the HABOTN on my cell phone (and still receiving texts about Tubs, JJ, and recruits every five minutes or so). Ain't life grand.
I hope Chet Williams gets to stay on board with the players. He made the difference when he came on the staff in '04.
Denny - 2 post 69. I'm proud of you.
Peter,
Put the phone down...
One Word: Spoon.
Good night.
FSJ
Adam, I do indeed hope that the Scout folks are DEAD WRONG!
Um...Cotton is the 12th ranked dual-threat QB in the country. His lack of offers had a lot to do with is steadfast commitment to Auburn. Dont let all that talk about AU not having recruits with big time offers fool you. Brandon Jacobs (RB from GA) only has UAB and Wake Forest on his offer list, but go to AJC and you'll find several articles about how UF has been heavily recruiting him lately.
warming my toes
me too, but it's the headline on the TT page.
Did you guys see the Rutger player tackle the Louisville player by his Dreadlocks tonight? Ouch
I hope that Scout report is wrong too.
I got it goin on
Whats the temp in WV Monica?
It's 28.
chatroll.com
Lawd have mercy...28?
Sky still falling?
Yes the sky is still falling! It's 28 degrees in WV and Mike Leach could be our next coach!
If it is Leach then the sky has crashed to the groud. I feel Leach personally just isn't a good fit at Auburn.
I'm just hoping a phone call has gone to Atlanta and Paul Johnson is being talked to.
You know the names I keep reading on the 'insider wishlists' are Brian Kelly(Cinci) and Derek Dooley(la Tech). I dont much about either but I'm kinda curious.
I cant get to chatroll.com for some reason. :(
Actually it's 26 now.
I'm hoping that Paul Johnson call is being made too.
Why can't you get there?
For the suggestion that we blitz JPW, that would have likely made things worse. The problem we had was Coffee and blitzing just opens up holes for him. I suppose it couldn't have gotten worse, but in that situation, blitzing didn't make a lot of sense.
There were rumors about Tuberville and his wife having issues. I consider that none of mine or anyone else's business, but there is a distinct possibility that it influenced his decision.
Gosh I really hope if the call is being made to Paul Johnson his phone is turned off!
i am going to bed...night all!
So we didn't have the players to run tony franklin's system. How in the world do we have the players to run mike leach's system? It would definately take time to get his kind of players in here, and i don't think any of us will have the patience for another season without a bowl game.
I think Leach would be successful (in year 3). First year would be 3-8. Second 7-5 and third probably 10-3.
Problem is, defense wins championships and he will not get a good D until year 8 or 9.
Ron, I know where you are coming from with regard to not having players for that type of offense, but I think that our athletes can be developed rather quickly. Even if you are against a Mike Leach hire, I think you'd be impressed with how he develops his receivers.
To quote a NYT article: "All have been conditioned to run much more than a football player normally does. A typical N.F.L. receiver in training might run 1,500 yards of sprints a day; Texas Tech receivers run 2,500 yards. To prepare his receivers' ankles and knees for the unusual punishment of his nonstop-running offense, Leach has installed a 40-yard-long sand pit on his practice field; slogging through the sand, he says, strengthens the receivers' joints. And when they finish sprinting, they move to Leach's tennis-ball bazookas. A year of catching tiny fuzzy balls fired at their chests at 60 m.p.h. has turned many young men who got to Texas Tech with hands of stone into glue-fingered receivers."
Mark, with our current defensive players plus Gray and Freeman next season, we should be very sound defensively. Doolittle is the biggest loss with graduation. Our secondary will be experienced and deep. The only big issue might be with the tackles and the size of the tackles. Marks will be good, but we need a big guy to go with him.
Just think of all the love we'd get from Donald Trump if Auburn were to hire Mike Leach. We might get that indoor practice field after all :-)
It's shortsighted and shows a lack of open mindedness for some to dismiss a Leach hire. There are few candidates that inspire excitement out there, but Leach is one of them. Is he like Tommy? No, but we need to get past that and move into the future.
SteveFC makes a good point on the defense.
However, learning to tackle, I posit, will also improve the defense. Hopefully that was a young and worn out thing.
If Senderick Marks goes pro, he's a bigger loss than Doolittle.
It's not shortsighted to think that Leach's style could possibly be exposed in the SEC and that as a person he might find it difficult fitting in at Auburn.
I just don't see that much difference from leach and franklin. Yeah leach is probably a little bit smarter and a slightly a better coach, but as far as being a weirdo socially awkward loner who runs a high school offense that consists of less than ten plays, they are identical.
and g,
I don't care if the receviers are tied to cars driving on the interstate and catch bowling balls thrown off of ten story buildings our receivers will be below average for at least the next two years.
I just can't see Mike Leach as an Auburn man. I just don't see him fitting the certain...what would you say....ideals that Auburn coaches seem to have.
RK- I noticed in a previous thread that you attended the Alcorn State / UTC game with Steve McNair. I just wanted to say I was at that game too. The whole game plan was for Alcorn State to throw bombs all game long. I have never seen so many deep throws (and a lot of them completed) in my life. That game is still one of the craziest games I have ever been too in watching an offense play. Just thought I would share.
That game was insane. McNair was deadly the whole game with his arm and his feet. Had he played at any other school, he would have won the Heisman in 1995.
Terry Henley is on the OD this morning and he swears that Leach is not even on the list.
I hope he is right.
MDaniel - Not sure why you aren't able to email me. Are you sending it to monica_wareagle@yahoo.com?
Me too RK! Leach's record is no better than Tub's and I doubt Leach is as good a man as Tubs.
From what Jay and others have said, there is a good chance both Marks and Coleman will leave early. I know some on here feel different, but the d-line looks much weaker to me next year without Doolittle, Marks and Coleman. You just can't plug in D-lineman to replace 1st and 2nd round draft picks. Also, still don't understand all of the hand-wringing over P Rhoads. This D has looked much better under different coaches in the past, and I think he could be replaced.
I said it before and I will say it again. I like Paul Johnson. I really do.
Eddie, what kind of a recruiter would P Johnson be?
I haven't heard anything from anyone Auburn-related that has even muttered the name "Mike Leach."
I think Paul Johnson would be a great recruiter for Auburn. He has big time ties in the state of Georgia, and I'm not talking from his Georgia Tech days. He is already established where we get a lot of players from and the guy can coach.
A little ditty for the day.
How is AU Supposed to Win Without You?
To the Tune of How Am I Supposed to Live Without You?
I could hardly believe it
When I read the news from Jay
I wanted to hear it straight from you
The Jays said you were leavin'
You didn’t want to coach another day
From the look of what’s coming back next year I can see it's true
So tell me all about it, tell me 'bout the all the changes you were makin'
Then tell me one thing more before you go
Tell me how is AU supposed to win without you?
Now that you've been coachin' here so long
How is AU supposed to win without you?
How is AU supposed to carry on
When all the winning is now gone?
I know you don’t want to see us cryin'
Can’t we just forget this year’s breakdown
Our chances to win the SEC are coming to an end
An how can I blame you, Tommy
When we hated every move you made
And criticized you for hanging close to your coaching friends
And we don't wanna face the price we’re gonna pay for wishing
Wishing you would leave and then you did
Tell me how is AU supposed to win without you?
Now that you've been coachin' here so long
How is AU supposed to win without you?
How is AU supposed to carry on
When all the winning is now gone?
Tell me how is AU supposed to win without you? (Don’t let ‘em hire the pirate, Tommy)
Now that you've been coachin' here so long (Don’t let ‘em hire some coordinator either)
How is AU supposed to win without you? (NOT Spurrer!)
How is AU supposed to carry on
When all the winning is now gone? (Promise me, Bama isn’t going to own us for a decade...)
If you say it JGT, I believe it!
If you say it JGT, I believe it!
I think Mike Leach is throwing his name out there as leverage for negotiating with Texas Tech, and it is working.
I hate to even bring this up, but Rodney Garner is quoted in the AJC as being interested in the AU HC job. Any chance he would come back as an assistant? I know a lot of fans have strong feelings about him, but he may be the single best recruiter in the SEC. We desperately need some strong recruiting to pull out of the tailspin that is current AU football. I see no chance of him as HC however, strictly asking as a(highly-paid) assistant.
Eddie:
I agree about your assessment of Leach..
Additionally, y'all stay as far away from Johnson as possible....
TIA,
FSJ
Funny stuff Cobra - kudos as usual.
FSJ- Are you wanting us to stay as far away from Johnson as we did Saban?
"...when Tuberville was whipping Shula's arse in state it was because he was outworking him.
However, when Saban is whipping Tuberville's arse, it's because he is buying players."
-FSJ
I completely agree with you, FSJ.
Nice work Cobra.
Jay,
I read the AJC article on Rodney Garner's interest this morning in the AU JOB. Towards the middle-bottom of the article they are claiming Leach has already say "no thanks" to AU. Any truth to this you reckon?
I'm all for Paul Johnson.
I'm ok if Rodney comes back as recruiting coordinator.
Michael - I like your treatment of Faker. Yesterday throwing him under the Doug Amos bus and today by supporting his logic.
Keep up the good work!
Eddie,
Have no idea how far y'all stayed away from Saban..
However, I want Johnson to have the same shot of getting the Auburn job as Terry Bowden currently does.
Gang, I just can't see Paul Johnson moving from Tech after only one year. Besides, he's got a chance to win the ACC sooner than the SEC.
Just my opinion.
Michael,
I believe you left out the most important part of my post........
It's very Monica like to twist someone's words and use it against them.
Agree Sensi
But IMO, he is one heckuva coach in all seriousness.
He was my personal 2nd choice when we got Saban.
Oh, he's a great coach. He hung around Navy a lot longer than I thought he would. So, I get the feeling he's pretty loyal. But who knows?
it only took Paul Johnson one year to beat Jawga. i'm down.
He needs a good defensive coordinator to come in with him, but Paul Johnson might be the best guy out there.
Which means we probably won't contact him.
So the Houston Chronicle is really stoking the Leach rumors this AM. I will provide a link if Jay G. doesn't object.
Maybe we need a coach rumors thread Jay? Like the radio rumor thread from a couple of days ago.
Good idea James:
Will be able to determine the accuracy of the prognosticators later.
Tom Luginbill on Paul Johnson:
"'Paul Johnson's scheme fits Auburn's talent: a run-first quarterback (in Kodi Burns) who's athletic enough and a strong roster of good running backs. I'm telling you, Nick Saban and the rest of the conference don't want to prepare for that offense. You can't do it in three days because you don't see it enough
I'm with you Scottie B.
Faker - Don't make yourself such an easy target and we'll stop. Until then stop whining. :-)
RK, why all the cynicism?
funny RK
oh fsj, what is the significance of a word or two in this huge universe we live in?
Hey, let's stir it up again in here... I still think Jay1 was somewhat lying in yesterdays press conference!
Didn't Bowden "resign" also? I am beginning to see a pattern here.
Mr. S- I agree that I think Paul Johnson is a loyal guy, but I also believe that he only had a one year contract with Tech, I wish someone could confirm that. I do believe he only makes $1.5 Million per year and I don't believe GT has the funds to call nearly as much as Auburn would offer. It would be a cash situation / ego thing for him to come to Auburn, but I don't think it is impossible.
Michael- Anytime some pays you to quit, especially as much as Auburn pays coaches, they can call it whatever they want to call it.
Ga Tech has a 55,000 capacity stadium and is definitely an afterthought in the town they are in. Why would he not be tempted by Auburn? Not just for the money but for the big time college experience?
Johnson on Friday agreed to a seven-year deal worth more than $11 million, Tech athletics director Dan Radakovich said.
Friday being 12/07
The more I think about this whole "resigning" business, the more it just doesn't add up, and the madder I get. Right now, there's no way that I'm buying that he wasn't "fired." Just one man's opinion FWIW...
Sensi,
Just cynical when it comes to the PTB making the right hire. I hope they prove me wrong.
They could "fire" me or "resign" me any day of the week for $5.1 Million.
If I were Tubs I would have done the centipede out of the athletic building.
Al.com has an article about Auburn looking at Houston Nutt.
Any one see the rumors from Goldberg that AU is interested in Houston Nutt? Seriously? Please, no.
i don't can't find any links to a Johnson extension at Tech. u got one AU1N04?
wow, ok, i am back, I have spent the past hour and half reading every blog, article, story about the issue, now I am caught up from 7:00 pm, last night, sad life we have now.
Dennis Dodd from CBS Sportsline is apparently reporting that Muschamp turned Auburn down.
This is the kind of crap that drives me crazy..
Just because you check the interest level of someone doesn't mean you are going to offer the job to them. At any rate you still get all of these "so and so turns X school down".....They weren't even offered the job!
Rant over.
well do you think the tubberville merchandise just went on sale at stores across the state?
Dodd is a turd with a heartbeat. I agree man I read that article. In 2008, you never know till that money is in your face. i.e. Saban, rodriguez
Scottie B - that was an article for the AJC in 12/07. There has been no extension or news about PJ lately.
Is it just me or does anyone else not getting too excited over the thought of Jimbo being the next head coach? Remember Jimbo's stellar recruiting...Markeith "The Lizard" Cooper. What was he, like 5'6", 140???
Jay,
Do we have any guys with six finger or toes on this years basketball team??
FSJ I seriously doubt you would be happy to get 'fired/resign' from a job where you gave your heart and soul for 10 years. CTT was already rich. That doesnt compare to the relationships that he loses with players, coaches and his community when he moves.
Covingtontiger - The more I think about it, the more I'm inclined to think that JJ is basically telling the truth. Now obviously the fact that they didn't give Tubs a strong vote of support on Monday had a lot to do with his resigning, but I'm thinking now that he probably did resign and they would have kept him if he hadn't. He just realized he would be in an impossible situation and decided to go.
The fact that they paid the buyout doesn't necessarily mean he was fired. There is nothing worse than having an employee around who is there only because their contract requires it. I've been through that, and it doesn't work. Imagine this conversation:
Tub: I think I'll just quit.
JJ: Fine, you don't get a dime.
Tub: In that case, I'll stay. But I'm going on a 2 month duck hunt. I'll check back in on signing day to see how we're doing. I think we'll skip spring practice this year - who needs it?
Of course, no such conversation took place, but the idea of having a coach around who didn't really want to be there was certainly not in Auburn's interest, and from that standpoint, as the "right" thing to do for the school.
Moral of the story is that buyouts are usually really good for coaches and really bad for the school.
Auburn looking at Houston Nutt??? Can we 'fire' this search firm or at least encourage their 'resignation'?
Maybe not Big Cat, but I would be willing to try it to see for sure.
Yes Josh he didnt even stay at Auburn, he finished at Troy and was last seen playing like Arena League-4 in Blakely Georgia.
Jay you said:
"I haven't heard anything from anyone Auburn-related that has even muttered the name Mike Leach."
Have you heard anyone Auburn-related mutter any names? If so do you mind sharing? You might have already mentioned this in previous comments but the comments are quite abundant these days.
Coosa if JJ had every intention to get CTT through the next 5 years why not give more public support throughout the season when they were questioned? I'm an Auburn Man and will gladly drink the AU kool-aid and tow the AU company line, but dont spit on my boots and tell me it's rain.
FSJ for $5.1 million...me too! :D
thanks AU1. i misunderstood. happening alot to me this morning. this whole week has made me very grouchy.
What is the search firm's buyout? If it is houston nutt I would be willing to donate to the cause.
Wrong PDWT,
You are thinking about Demontray Carter I guess.
Markeith finished his college career at AU in 1999 and actually had a pretty goood season for us that year. Actually scored a TD vs Bama in 99.
Demontray Carter went on to lead those Troy (State) Trojans passed Jackie Sherrill and Miss. St.
What would Ole Miss do if Auburn took another coach from them?
Yes, excuse the lapse, lots of alcohol in those days, as those were my colege years, lizard vs. demontray, both small backs right?
uh oh Scottie B if you're grouchy don't read the email I just sent you.
Markeith Cooper never played at Troy PDWT
Oh, I almost forgot about ol' Rusty Williams, too. Remember this line....Craig in the shotgun, hands off the Williams running straight, into the line and down. 2nd and 10.
Not looking forward to Jimbo, to say the least.
Was that Jimbo or Bowden's doing? I seem to remember Stephen Davis being wasted by TBs reign as well.
So, who the heck are we going to get? I'm not loving any of the coaches being linked to us.
