Looking ahead to A-Day, Part II
Hey everyone. I'm in suburban Louisville, Ky., for a family event that was non-negotiable. You know that. You also know I won't be attending A-Day for the same reason. So it goes.
Our man Josh "Bag" Moon will be on the scene and will provide blanket coverage of this fine event.
Before we get started, here are the facts about A-Day.
Time: 1 p.m.
Place: You Know Where
Tickets: $5. Bring cash or checks if you plan to buy at the gate. Credit not accepted.
Television: Live on CSS. It'll re-air on Sunday and Tuesday, 6 p.m.
Radio: WKKR (97.7 FM) in Auburn
Other stuff: Autograph session with The Head Coach, The Assistant Coaches and players will be held after the event.
Now we may get to business. What other items of relevance are worth watching tomorrow? Here are a few non-player issues I find intriguing:

Now we may get to business. What other items of relevance are worth watching tomorrow? Here are a few non-player issues I find intriguing:
- Line of scrimmage: We've heard plenty this spring about how the defensive front has overpowered the offensive front once stunts and blitzes are in play. How big is that advantage? Auburn's offensive line will be in the spotlight today.
- The feel of Malzahn's attack: The Tigers' new offensive coordinator has gone to great lengths to differentiate his attack from what Tony Frankin attempted to run in 2008. How big is the difference? Look for more play-action runs. As for the passing, expect more deep throws. What to expect beyond that? I have no idea.
- Coaches' behavior: Gene Chizik said all nine assistants will spend their afternoon on the sideline. It'll be interesting (to me, at least) to see how some of these guys interact with players in real-time situations. If I had to choose, I'd keep my binoculars focused on Trooper Taylor and Jay Boulware. They seem most likely to become entertainingly animated.
- The crowd: Big? Average? Are Auburn fans really geeked about things overall?
- Other things: After watching Auburn operate under Tommy Tuberville's tutelage for 10 seasons, what looks different? Do players appear to hustle on and off the field more often? Do the huddles look different? Is Meerkat Manor officially over? Do the offensive tackles use two- or three-point stances more often? How does the team operate as a unit?

Bark you can come to my house and help us do some cleaning and moving and such. Be here at 8:00 a.m.
No doubt and they got less and less as the years went by
why would you waste time being depressed about something that happened last year - that's just goofy
I hate spring cleaning
or
any kind of cleaning
Gotta make room for Mama!
OH shoot got to go catch you all later
Our reversal dinner experience was classic. Sat next to the biggest needs in American history. Oh. My. God.
8 am? On a sat? haha funny
Is reversal really rehearsal? And is needs really nerds?
If so, those are some very interesting typos...
I'll be at the game tomorrow wearing the infamous "HABOTN Tee". Come up and say "Hi". Look forward to seeing y'all and the "new & improved Tigers!
That's the funny part? The part about me living 10 hours from you isn't funny?
Well there's 365! Good to hear from you. Hope you have a great time at the game. WDE
Thanks Mon ... been kinda out of pocket for a little bit ... good to be back and catchin' up
oh no, i love road trips.
reversal dinner? i know a lot of people who wish they had one of those before their wedding.
So my QB theory is shot for tomorrow ... must duct tape them for safety.
20/20 is laying it on AIG
credit default swaps ... yum.
Why are they picking on them Monica? I ejoyed the trip to Phoenix and the bonus came in time to pay for my season tickets.
You got that right, WTC ... they want to give them billions, but then they don't want to them act like a profit making venture, so no more trips. Who's going to sell their products? No one, and so the billions are flushed.
Either let them die, or give 'em money and get out of the way.
I will say it is easy for those in politics to think they know how to run everyone elses business. Seems to me those folks only sign the back of paychecks, not the front of them. Maybe if they had to actually make a profit they would understand.
Politicians are lame.
To me, it's ridiculous. Makes absolutely no sense.
No offense intended to Sen. Jet, of course.
I resigned from the Senate to spread the good word of love for Auburn and hate for UAT.
Yea, back when I was in Alabama we had a group of Auburn and Bama fans that could kid around with each other. Nobody would get upset or anything. Then this Bama fan had to go and say Shug sucked and I had to body slam him a couple of times, and then there was that pile driver, but it was in the grass. The group just wasn't quite the same after that.
The book of Jude says contend for the faith. You did well, Steve.
Decent day at the plate for former Auburn standout Mike Bianucci:
6-6, 2 HR, 2B, 7 RBI
He plays for the Hickory Crawdads, a Class A affiliate of the Texas Rangers.
"Reversal dinner:" My iphone auto-corrected that and I thought it was more clever that way...
Just Hulu'd the first episode of Southland, excellent show. Will be DVR'd from now on.
On another not, crazy how we can now make any known into a verb.
I really liked the Southland pilot. Missed the most recent epidose, though. Bummer.
It's on Hulu Jay, check it out.
Will they allow cameras (specifically a DSLR) into A-Day?
How 'bout them Penguins! Up 2-0 on the Broad St. Bullies thanks to a thrilling win in OT tonight, or last night.
WAR EAGLE!!!
Jet- I love your pina colada lyrics. I hate seeing that retard singing his song in the "oldies" commercial.
why is everyone still asleep?
Luv - isn't it about tee time? May the fairways be wide and all your putts be true today.
sleep ... hell no its game day... I am just watching CSS waiting my turn for fun...
but then again I get to watch a 6 year olds soccer game so my enjoyment will be +1 hour..
I'm guessing 6 yr olds playing soccer can be quite amusing. Have a great day, DL. We're burning daylight, can't dilly dally, so I'm off the 'puter henceforth. WAR EAGLE!!!
p.s. No offense, but I'm thankful it's the soccer crowd that will get to see you in your speedo.
So does anybody know whether or not the players hustle on and off the field? and did they not hustle on and off the field during CTTs time there? it always looked like the players played hard for Tubbs..am I wrong?
THT you are a machine. Posts at 1:40 AM and again at 6:20 AM?????
THT ...
You back in Auburn? If so, welcome home.
Good Morning, Hotties!! I hope everyone that is going to A-Day has a fantastic time!
TarHeel, our tee time isn't until 3:00. I didn't call until yesterday, so there wasn't much left. So, we are going to run some errands, including getting our toenails did!
Can't be at the game, but at least I've got a tee time Monday.
Brother Jette,
We will cheer loudly in your honor.
If you want to make God laugh, make a plan. I was excited about A-Day, couldn't wait to go, and then my truck died yesterday...steering gear went out, and those gears are quite expensive. After my husband got off the phone with the service manager, he turned to me and said "Happy Mother's Day!" To all the Hotties going to the game, be safe! Can't wait for all your updates and observations.
