Internet Appearance Forthcoming
Hey everyone. I will be participating in a chat this afternoon, held by UKAthletics.com, to discuss the upcoming UK @ Auburn game.
It'll be me and Larry Vaught (UK beat hack) taking your questions via a Cover It Live interface. We experimented with CIL last year and didn't find it to our liking. Maybe you'll change your mind today.
Time: 1:30 p.m. CDT

Motto: One HABOTN.

Can't listen from work :-(
It's a typing chat. No audio.
Like AIM, GTalk, etc.
i haven't been on ukathletics.com in such a long time. i miss lexington. good times.
I used CIL for a live chat during the first round of the draft in April.
It's not great but serviceable.
I'll see if I get a warning. I get one when I go to the HABOTN, but I just ignore it; at least until Security shows up!
Sensi: It's just SO SLOW.
That's why it's not good for a campfire.
Maybe we could do a weekly q-and-a in addition to Thursday Night Live.
Man, 2:30...that's so long from now.
2:30 ET Sean, just over an hour....
Michael, responding to you from earlier. I'm not saying they all just need to be better but they surely can work on different looks, different techniques etc on how to generate a better rush.
Dang new thread and I missed it, here was my last post:
Onto bama news, apparnently they had a rivals staff reporter Matt Scalici that talks to recruits cause a big scene and uproar at the bama rivals site by posting this message:
Fired up
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sorry in advance about what I'm about to post. It's more than a little emotionally driven. Just gotta get this off my chest.
Holy hell, am I fired up. Look, I don't want to play the victim anymore. I'm tired of being offended and having my feelings hurt and asking "Why us?". The NCAA can run its mouth off about us all it wants but they know as well as we do that they don't have the balls to touch us.
I'm tired of listening to their preaching and the hypocrisy of every other program that wants to pretend that they wouldn't trade teams with us right this second if they could.
The time for Alabama fans to sit there and take punishment is over. It's our turn to give some out. We're giving out plenty on the field already and we will continue to bruise and batter every opponent with the misfortune of having us on their schedule this year. But what's going to be the sweetest part about seeing Coach Saban lift that crystal football into the air this January is the big giant middle finger that will represent to the NCAA. In their minds, we are the absolute poster boy for the way they don't want a program run. We care too much about football and we are willing to make sacrifices and do whatever it takes to be the best.
I'm still mulling it over, but I'm thinking about making a t-shirt to start wearing to games that says "SERIAL REPEAT VIOLATOR" in big white letters. What do you guys think? I think it says the NCAA can do whatever the hell it wants to us and we're still going to win the national championship because we are committed to being the best EVERY SINGLE YEAR and we don't tolerate failure or mediocrity like their little teacher's pets in the Midwest.
Maybe on the back I'll write "...unmatched by any other member institution in the NCAA." Damn right.
Rant over.
Yeah Sean, I hope they can come up with something. But in the case that they don't improve, the coaching staff has to consider what the best option is. They have chosen to try not give up the big plays and preserve linebackers' energy, which are good things to do. They know more about football than me, so we will see how it keeps working.
I agree with the need to do something. I'm just not sure blitzing is the answer.
Why the heck is Pybus still out? A concussion? Did a brick fall off the Haley Center and hit him in the head?
Maybe Pybus just needs a good nuzzling by The Chiz.
I have only this to say in response to Eddie's relay of an obnoxious post...IT'S AN AMATEUR FOOTBALL TEAM. You got caught cheating. Multiple times. Get over it.
Eddie, give that guy my number. i can make that shirt happen for him.
:)
The big deal of what the guy did and said is that he talks, or did (Rivals just fired him of his recruiting duties) to recruits. It suggests that when talking to recruits he could have tried to persuade them to bama which is a no no and NCAA violation.
One more reason that I hate recruiting...except when we get all the best players and when Bama gets caught cheating, then recruiting is cool.
Jay G,
At some point on Saturday will the smurf in you come out and that blue & white that runs through your veins quietly root for The Wildcats?
Jay G. what do you think of UK having to pay Billy G. almost 3m?
Rivals pulled this guy from recruiting stories and will use him for other non-recruiting stories from now on. My question is this, if he caused such a big uproar, which he has, why not let him go all together? What is the reasoning for keeping him?
Eddie,
Maybe the people who run Rivals are Bama grads?
RK- I think that has been proven. Anyways, enough conspiracy talk. I just found that story interesting and wonder if it gets any play on the radio.
more importantly Eddie, how many times did Sensi get cussed last nite? i haven't heard the show yet. i hope it was bunches!
Scottie,
I've listened to the first 10 mins and cussed Sensi 10.5 times.
The .5 I stopped myself before I finished the whole word.
Sensi said that was Auburn's best game and we will win the SEC last night all in the first 90 seconds.
good work RK! u going to be at the UK game?
I'd hate to hear Sensi's take on our pro-team.
What's everyone's prediction for Saturday? Besides pain of course.
Auburn in a close one. Kentucky is no pushover.
Auburn by 3 TDs.
I see some variation there.
Unless you consider 3 TD's close, ebro. I consider that pretty darn close.
I think 41-20 should about cover it.
I'm open to new ideas. I guess in retrospect, we lost in a heartbreaker last Saturday in Fayetteville. I like it.
Auburn wins a tight one.
Scottie,
I'll be down there for homecoming and the Iron Bowl...but that looks like all for me.
I don't care about UK.
I don't give them money. I don't pay attention to them ... aside from basketball.
Most of my college friends are from Transylvania U.
JayG, how soon before Kentucky is on probation?
Go Pioneers, Jay G.?
Transy Rocks!!!!!
I just got told to place certain body parts of rival fans in my mouth by another Auburn fan who also reads and posts at the Tuscaloosa News.
Good times.
I guess one HABOTN ends at the HABOTN state line.
long-time reader, first time commenter. Jay G i used to work in the media relations office where you and I would talk about random crap.
42-20 Auburn

Welcome, Drew.
drew....WELCOME!!!!!!
r u a fellow/former Lexington resident too?
Hey Drew. Bienvenue to HABOTN. Nice UK prediciton. I like it.
Welcome drew.
I talk about random stuff all the time.
UK basketball probation: 4 years away.
No I actually have never been to the bluegrass state in my life. Birthed in Texas, schooled at Auburn, living in Denver.
ah, for some reason i wrongly thought UK Media Relations. my bad.
Denver? Me too, for another couple of weeks anyway. I'll miss the skiing.
no, AU media relations. Best job I have ever had.
Welcome, Drew.
i hear it'll be a snowy year this year too. I'm itching to shred some fresh pow-pow myself
Jay G ...
The last time the NCAA got mad at Kentucky, Mark Komara was determined to be an Auburn booster and we went on probation.
I'm heading over to the chat.
There was talk that I'd be able to place the chat on the HABOTN. I'll do that if I can.
here's a snippet i found while checking in on who will be starting at QB for UK on saturday:
Whoever gets the call (Fidler or Newton) will be making his first career start on the road in a tough Southeastern Conference environment. Two of UK's worst offensive performances of the past two decades came in similar situations, the first career starts of Andre Woodson and Tim Couch.
The Cats generated just 67 total yards in Couch's first start, a 65-0 wipeout at the hands of eventual national champion Florida in 1996.
Woodson made his first career start at Auburn in 2004, going 14-for-26 passing for 73 yards while being sacked seven times. UK finished with 110 yards of total offense and lost 42-10 to the Tigers, who finished 13-0 and No. 2 in the polls that year.
Chat is going up on the front of the HABOTN.
Yep, gonna miss it for sure. May head up to A-Basin or Loveland this Sunday just for one last hurrah, even though I'm not sure October skiing will be that appetizing. Hopefully in the future I can make annual trips out to Colorado in the winter.
I remember Woodson's debut, McClover, Gunn and Groves made him miserable.
I imagine this first career start will fair better for the Cats this time around, but still not a winning start IMO.
Scottie, that's why I think we maybe roll in this one. Locke and Cobb can definitely hurt us, but without a passing game we should be able to slow down Locke and except out of the Wildcat (unless they make him QB), I'm not sure how Cobb gets the ball that much. Special teams returns may be where those two hurt us the most.
I think on offense we come out with some purpose and maybe see a Mississippi St-esque performance. We'll see. I'm usually pretty apprehensive before any game, but I got a good feeling about this one.
New Thread.
