Coaching snapshot: Jay Boulware
JAY BOULWARE
Age: 36 (born 11/26/72)
College: B.A. from U. Texas, 1996. (economics)
Playing career: Spent two seasons as a reserve offensive lineman at U. Texas. A heart condition ended his playing career before his junior season began.
Coaching career:
•Auburn, tight ends/special teams (current)
•Iowa State, running backs/special teams (2007-08)
•Utah, tight ends/special teams (2005-06)
•Stanford, running backs (2004)
•Arizona, several roles (2001-03)
•Northern Illinois, several roles (1997-2000)
•Texas, graduate assistant (1994-96)
Mentor:
Larry Mac Duff, who was defensive coordinator at U. Arizona when Boulware was there as a position coach. It was MacDuff, a special-teams guru, who first suggested that Boulware begin learning about special teams. I've also heard Boulware speak highly of Tom Quinn, who coaches special teams with the New York Giants.
Previous Auburn experience:
None.
Coaching philosophy:
Boulware brings an intriguing blend of ideas to Auburn's coaching staff. He is an old-school guy in many ways, placing high demands on his players and making sure they hear exactly what he expects from them. He has the loudest voice on any field. He isn't ashamed to use that booming voice.
Many old-school coaches believe in what I'll call "cookie cutter" football. By that, I mean they think football is static. They believe in one way of doing things. Boulware isn't narrow minded and, in fact, spends a lot of time sharing ideas with other coaches about special-teams innovations. He wants to be a maverick.
Boulware is Auburn's most detail-oriented coach. While fellow assistants like Curtis Luper and Jeff Grimes talk more about hustle and attitude, Boulware asks his players see things on a smaller scale. He is a stickler for footwork, hand placement, stances. I watched him berate TE Bailey Woods during spring drills for aligning too far away from the tackle.
The offending margin measured less than a foot. That didn't matter to Boulware.
I sense that special teams is going to be his thing, though I also believe he could become a head coach someday. At 36, he's still moving along the learning curve. Boulware is an enterprising guy. He's not someone who waits for direction.
Personality profile:
Boulware is an intense guy. I've never talked to him when things seemed leisurely in his world. He's speaks forcefully. I wouldn't call it loud, but he's always audible and his comments leave no room for interpretation.
He speaks his mind. He's honest about his players, even when that honesty demands a critical take. I tie that in with his generally old-school outlook on coaching.
I consider Boulware the team's most upwardly mobile coach. Though I believe offensive coordinator Gus Malzahn will be the first assistant to land a major job, I expect to see Boulware gain regional/national relevance during the next 10 years. He's so driven. He has a precise view of what he wants, yet he's very interested in finding new ways to excel.
Those are the kinds of people who, in my experience, make it big.

«Oldest ‹Older 201 – 400 of 636 Newer› Newest»
Hottie Norm, in a single-handed display of grit, determination, and fighting spirit which so characterizes an AU fan, has taken the Hotties to a NEW PAGE!
Due to my lack of contributions of late, I felt it was the least I could do to support the cause.
Yep, still listening to another concall.
Official Afternoon Tune Stuck in Our Heads:
True Colors by Cyndi Lauper
I haven't heard it in a few days; not sure why it is now clogging my neural pathways... and now yours ;-)
Norm, listen to that ^ instead
THT - thanks to you, I still have Mouth & McNeal banging around in there. And because of that, I'll remind you of "Playground in My Mind". You're welcome.
well how do you do! thank goodness I still don't know that tune.
aarrghhh, hostile takeover of True Colors by How Do You Do. Make it stop! Make it stop!
Not even the good Cyndi Lauper stuff.
In case you were wondering, the good stuff is "She Bop."
as punishment for my 1:41 post I should have been forced to vacate some posts. This punishment is too severe!
I didn't know Cyndi Lauper had any good stuff.
THT -
You're Welcome
Luv - your assumption is correct.
Time After Time is the best Lauper song.
I thought the info about Coach Jordan was worth passing on. Thanks for the response.
Headed to the gym. My day is done.
My work day is done too, but I'm not going to the gym!
Time after Time also my favorite Lauper tune. In fact, I was able to use it to bring How Do You Do into submission.
Luv - I don't blame you. Exercise is dangerous.
THT - you're right. I'll be putting my life on the line for a few hours tomorrow morning. I may just have to have a few adult beverages tonight to steel myself up for it.
There is a Sunday morning music show on A&E called Private Sessions that I Tivo each week. Cindy Lauper was on not too long ago and she was excellent.
My family thinks I'm crazy, but I dig that chick.
The shows with Squeeze and Counting Crows were fantastic too.
Monica loves Private Sessions, too.
Yo Aubie -
Ha'ina 'ia mai ana ka puana
On April 10th I stepped on my bathroom scale. The number staring back at me was 208.
Inspired by that number, and Norm's avatars, I began my excercise and "lifestyle modification" routine.
I weighed in this morning at 190.
Atta boy, Aubie! If you ever hit a wall and can't lose any more weight, you should try throwing up your food after every meal.
Nicely done Aubie. It was something along those lines that got me up off the sofa a couple years and 50+ pounds ago.
I'd have liked to have seen the Squeeze session. I like them and hear them regurlarly on my iPod.
Michael- that's the first thing I'll try. Exercise is deadly.
Michael,
I had the binge portion of the "binge-purge" process down pat.
Luv has never seen Private Sessions.
michael, LOL
Monica, why does always seem that it's SO much easier for men to lose weight?
I like Lindsey Buckingham. Caught him on Private Sessions a while back. Good show.
THT,
I am also playing ice hockey again on a regular basis. That helps!
I have put extra emphasis on developing my calves during my workout sessions.
They are BEASTLY!
i just cut off body parts to lose weight
Great tip Harrison! I shall refrain from making further comment.
Harrison,
That is how I lost the first 10 pounds, but now I have no love life.
Aubie - I am so jealous. I'm too old (I've even got years on Chelios) and I can't ice skate worth a flip. But the past few weeks I have been contemplating a new set of roller hockey skates.
Aubie beat me to the punch on that one.
TEN pounds!? That must have been a Steely Dan.
*rimshot*
My blog has one follower and it is ehyou.
I always wanted a follower.
ehyou, no matter what happens, you will always be the first.
Now it's 2. And might I say that's a mighty fine picture.
Aubie, Tar Heel, this is a family blog! ;-)
10 lbs! Ha!
So are Cyndi Lauper and Lindsey Buckingham doing dirty pay channel movies now or am I mislead by the "Private Sessions" title?
Thanks Norm!
Now I can say things like, "my followers and I hate bama".
and
"Gus, all my followers agree that you need to work on the calf muscles".
Cindy performed with Steely Dan.
I bet she did! Probably in the Private Sessions.
Aubie, have you considered a Sitz bath for that big red rump?
who the eff is Lindsy Buckingham??
Horray
I'm the "Buck" of Aubie's blog!
Harrison, you can go your own way.
Harrison for shame. He was a member of Fleetwood Mac and now tours solo.
THT,
I don't know what a Sitz bath is.
I have tried a henway.
so i google Lindsey Buckingham and it's a dude!!!
"Baths have many healing powers - from a sitz bath for hemorrhoids to soaks that relieve pain or itching..."
Harrison,
Well, he is NOW.
i'm not a huge music guy. I'm more into farts and boogers and drinking and stuff like that
Buckingham was (is) a great guitarist. Real unique style.
Does it make anyone else feel old that Harrison didn't know who Lindsey Buckingham is?
Harrison, the main chick's name in Fleetwood Mack was "Stevie". Go figure.
Aubie, did it bring back a lot of memories to hear that song after all these years?
and the Buckingham-Nicks album cover in '75 was hawt!
I am pretty young and I know who he is. Of course, I was introduced to Fleetwood Mac by my parents...
Yeah i have heard of that stevie fellow
Tar Heel, they sure have changed!!
The ape holds special memories.
My wife and I were out of the country rappelling Mount Kilamanjaro when the kids were little.
We called home to see how they were doing.
They had been to the zoo with the grandparents and my daughter told us that they "visited the monkey what has a red bottom"
So there he is.
michael, are you glad they introduced you to them?
at least he's smiling... I think.
my dad introduced me to a bammer named Bart Starr. I'm darn glad he did. Bart Starr was my hero. Still would be if it wasn't for Michael & Harrison.
LUV,
That song brought back tons of memories.
I knew that I would find it again someday, but I didn't think it would take that long. It turned out to be much more obscure than I thought.
Pretty catchy for a song about drug overdose, huh?
Yeah sure, I am not a huge fan or anything, but I respect their music. Cool history with all the interband relationships. The Silver Springs performance back on that reunion show in the 90's is chill inducing. But no, I don't actually like them enough to go out and buy their albums.
I mentioned my parents to confirm the fact that yes, it is an older band since my parents were fans of them.
I met Bart Starr in the Donut Hole in Destin with little Aubie.
Awesome guy. I told him we were Auburn folks and he said he was too - he married an Auburn girl.
Class act.
A couple of weeks later little Aubie got an autographed picture in the mail.
Thanks, michael
my favorite Baton Rouge band: Louisiana's LeRoux
Tar Heel, what did michael and Harrison do?
I am off to the Post Orifice.
See you hotties later.
Have a great weekend!
It's folks like Bart Starr that keep my hate locked in on UAT, the institution, and not on the bammers.
The better question is what haven't we done!? Booyakasha.
Luv - what happens in HABOTN stays in HABOTN. Seriously, I just think they are real smart. They may have me fooled, but so be it.
and as so often the case, the busiest part of my day conflicts with Puppet Hour. Y'all have fun.
Go Penguins!
Thanks, Luv.
Penguins have an infinitesimally small chance of winning, but I have hope. Confidence...not so much. But they'll have to do it on their own. No superstitious acts on my part today.
Jet's iPod highlights;
Gimme Shelter -- Stones
Enter Sandman -- Metallica
Back in the Saddle -- Aerosmith
Born on the Bayou -- CCR
Flashlight -- Parliament
Dazz -- Brick
Fantasy -- Aldo Nova
D'yermaker -- Led Zep
Lay It On The Line -- Triumph
Run Like Hell -- Pink Floyd
I Will Follow -- U2
i know one thing i haven't done michael. kill a drifter.
Luv - To give us proof that God is a man.
pointing finger at michael
Jet - I agree on some of those.
On that note, I'm taking it to the house to imbibe in one of my previously mentioned adult beverages. Peace out.
If no one misses the drifter, then it can't be considered murder, now can it?
I didn't know anyone besides me had Aldo Nova on his Ipod. I had an interesting trip through the shuffle feature on my way in this morning:
Ride A Black Swan - Zwan
Blind Man Blues - Muddy Waters
Good People - Jack Johnson
Trouble No More - The Allman Bros
Milk & Honey - Beck
Long As I Can See The Light - CCR
Hopefully, the trip home will be just as good.
Jet - interesting mix. D'yermaker and Back in the Saddle my favs from that list.
Scott Choc - you've got a lot of stuff I've never even heard of. I'll be checking them out tonight when I get home.
Before the hockey game, of course.
THT, here are some more for you. This is what I got at lunchtime today:
Got to Get Better in Little While -Derek & the Dominoes (Live at Fillmore)
YYZ - Rush (Live)
Explosivo - Tenacious D (not for family listening)
Her Majesty - The Beatles
Mary Won't You Call My Name? - Morphine
Cold Hard B%#$@ - Jet
I'm Tore Down - Freddie King
I'm off to the beach tomorrow, so no more music blog-hogging for a while. I don't want to steal your thunder, anyway. I always enjoy seeing what you're listening to. I also agree with you that the Ipod is one of the greatest inventions ever. I am also getting addicted to my GPS, however. Enjoy the game. Go Pens!
woot! I'm done for the day.... at 3 AM.
Rivals says that Cory Grant (4 star RB from Opelika) is planning on making his commitment in a week or so. He was in Auburn last weekend.
That makes the situation a little complex for Auburn.
He will be converted to o-line like the rest.
At first I couldn't remember who Aldo Noxa was, but then I played some of their music online and remembered why.
Steve - I would say you're mostly right about Aldo Nova, but that one song brings back some fun memories for me. I have a lot of songs on my Ipod that would probably make people wonder why the heck they're on there. I'll bet most people with Ipods would say the same. It's just so easy to buy single songs now, even somewhat obscure ones.
I never heard of Aldo Nova until just now, but I am glad I did. This video is hilarious:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GylirgHFqeQ
I'm missing a drifter.
Anybody seen him?
Look, if you lost your drifter he is fair game buddy.
That Aldo Nova video is so cheesy it is almost a parody.
I feel like I'm watching This is Spinal Tap.
The dude actually humps his guitar while he's playing it.
Maybe he's a bammer and he named his guitar "Cousin".
Aubie- i might know what happened to your drifter, but i'm scared to talk
I heard a short interview on the local morning show this week (Longshore & McKnight) with the UA recruit D Milner. The #1 cornerback in the nation. not hatin' becasue he committed to UA but Longshore asked him about being the #! CB inthenation and said he wsa surprised becasue he had not played cornerback since the 9th grade.
I've never seen him play and he may be prety good, but I think this says a lot about these rating services. (That doesn't mean I would not want him at AU, just thought it was interesting)
Scott Choc - have a great time at the beach. Eat plenty of seafood for me. Yum!!!
I'm hungry and MrsTHT is working late. I think I'll cook me up some Alpha-bits.
Did anyone listen to the local show today or at lunch in Montgomery to see if the (Scout intern/reporter and BamaMag writer) tool called in. He swore that Pres Whitt was friend of his family and two weeks ago told his parents that UA would lose 2 schollys per year for 3 years.
I think on the Hotties knew this nut case. If he did not call, I hope they say something about this as he was challenging McKnight for questioning his integrity.
Headed to Street Cafe in Montgomery with the Mrs's and daughter in about 45 minutes.
Michael - new avatar in leopard skin? Man, I had conveniently forgotten how bad that video was. It took all the best (worst) of early MTV and crammed it into one video. I still like the song, but liked it better 5 minutes and 25 seconds ago.
wtc - you're referring to "Jonathan". I remember him making the same claim. I seem to think that Sensi thought he might know him. I had online streaming audio along with concall issues after the morning show so I didn't hear anything after that. I seem to recall Longshore & McKnight practically begging him to call in to the show. I don't remember him accepting the invitation.
wtc - tomorrow is 20.
Aldo Nova - I was always fairly impressed at that time that when the album was recorded, he played all the instruments. I have the album but still can't remember offhand anything else he did.
Norm-I think we are goin to do the Rock n Roll in San Antonio 11.15.09 for some reason. We start training with a 6 miler Saturday. Then my bike group wants to do 35 right after lunch. May drop about 8-9 lbs Saturday.
Holy HIghsticking! THTjr just reminded me of one little stat that spits in the face of all the stats which overwhelmingly favor the commies tonight.
PENGUINS ARE 4-0 in GAME 7s ON THE ROAD!

WTC - I do believe I may have settled on one right here in ATL. It's Thanksgiving Day which kind of stinks missing the family get together but all things considered logistically it just works out better for the people actually living in my home.
If you're anything like me, I may lose a decent amount on Saturday but I bet I gain it back right quickly. I tend to eat alot from Saturday lunchish and forward up to Sunday lunch.
Well, down the road from me 30 miles or so. I don't actually live in ATL. I'm sorry to have misled all of you.
I certainly do also.
I have thought about doing the ATL run but just didn't want to spend Thanksgiving morning in ATL and then driving back home all tired and everything. especially sine the IB is the next day.
Keep me posted on how your training is going through FB. What are your times, etc.
My brother in law lives in north ATL, Suwannee I think. I visit there when I have to fly out of ATL sometimes.
Yeah, this would likely be the only year the ATL run would be a consideration. One or both or us are already planning on being out of town the weekends on either side of that one. That just creates too much of a hassle arranging for someone to watch over a young boy for us. So there you go.
Suwanee is about 10 miles from me. I know it fairly well.
I like rollerblading on the Silver Comet trail in Smyrna.
That used to be an SEC Tournament stop for me ... back when we covered the SEC Tournament.
K, Aubie, I'm following you, not sure where you are going, but I'm going with you.
JayGT - if I get me some new blades, will you be my skate buddy and call 911 when I crack my head open?
cincy,
You gonna watch some hockey tonight? It's GAME 7!!!
I feel very old reading these lists of songs. I haven't even heard of some of these bands. My list sounds boring compared to these!
Respect - Aretha Franklin
Don't Do It - The Band
That's Be the Day - Buddy Holly
Anticipation - Carly Simon
When Did You Fall in Love With Me? - Chris Rice
Silver Bells - Dean Martin
Riders on the Storm - The Doors
Feelin' Alright - Joe Cocker
Pachelbel's Canon in D
In Christ Alone - Newsboys
You Wear It Well - Rod Stewart
Pride and Joy - Stevie Ray Vaughan
My Girl - The Temptations
Sultans of Swing - DIre Straits
Am I showing my age?
Yep, THT, in your honor I am going to flip between the Braves and the Pens. My husband will be so proud!
Were my music choices so bad they scared everyone away?
Thanks Cincy! Pens will need all the support they can get.
Great song list. I've got me some
Buddy Holly (Peggy Sue),
Dire Straits (Skateaway and Romeo & Juliet are my 2 favs),
Temptations (I Wish it Would Rain)
Rod Stewart (a bunch)
Newsboys
& The Band.
I definitely need some Carly Simon music.
Right now I have tunes from 1939-2008, but nothing from the 40s.
GO PENS!!!
we had a wonderful DO dinner last night. I'm going to make me some biscuits in the morning.
Thanks!!!
I love classical music, but I rarely listen to it because it's too soothing and I could fall asleep. I listen to music when I'm waking up and when I'm driving.
10 pounds? c'mon
Love me some dutch oven meals! We just splurged with Graeter's Toffee Chip ice cream. Killing my diet :( Have you ever listened to Chris Rice? Awesome Christian artist, so creative. Probably my favorite.
It was when I was listening to Carly SImon that my then 13 year old son told me I was listening to oldies! Somehow I never considered that oldies. Oldies were what my parents listened to.
I'll go to amazon/itunes store/youtube and listen to Chris Rice. I'm not familiar with him.
But right now... IT'S A GREAT DAY FOR HOCKEY!!!
GO PENGUINS!!!!
THT,
You are my hero! Dire Straits two most awesomest songs are Skateaway and Romeo & Juliet. Incredible!
Cincy, I wouldn't eat anything out of the dutch oven that I know about (google it)
Monnie, yes - 10 pounds
Cartoon song by Chris Rice is awesome.
I hate any team in Red and White.
Go Pens
aw shucks, Aubie. How 'bout this one:
He was born in Big Beaver by the borderline
He started playing hockey by the time he was nine
His dad took the hose and froze the back yard
And Little Buddy dreamed he was Rocket Richard
He grew up big and he grew up tough
He saw himself scoring for the Wings or Canucks
But he wasn't that good with a puck
Buddy's real talent was beating people up
His heart wasn't in it but the crowd ate it up
Through pee-wee's and juniors, midgets and mites
He must have racked up more than three hundred fights
A scout from the flames came down from Saskatoon
Said, "There's always room on our team for a goon
Son, we've always got room for a goon"
There were Swedes to the left of him
Russians to the right
A Czech at the blue line looking for a fight
Brains over brawn--that might work for you
But what's a Canadian farm boy to do?
What else can a farm boy from Canada do?
But what's a Canadian farm boy to do?
What else can a farm boy from Canada do?
Hit somebody! was what the crowd roared
When Buddy the goon came over the boards
"Coach," he'd say, "I wanna score goals"
The coach said, "Buddy, remember your role,
The fast guys get paid, they shoot, and they score
Protect them, Buddy, that's what you're here for
Protection is what you're here for
Protection--it's the stars who score
Protection--go and kick somebody's ass
Protection--don't put the biscuit in the basket just
Hit some, Buddy! it rang in his ears
Blood on the ice ran down through the years
The king of the goons with a box for a throne
A thousand stitches and broken bones
He never lost a fight on his icy patrol
But deep inside, Buddy only dreamed of a goal
He just wanted one damn goal
There were Swedes at the the blue line
Finns at the red
A Russian with a stick heading straight for his head
Brains over Brawn--that might work for you
But what's a Canadian farm boy to do?
What else can a farm boy from Canada do?
But what's a Canadian farm boy to do?
What else can a farm boy from Canada do?
In his final season, on his final night
Buddy and a Finn goon were pegged for a fight
Thirty seconds left, the puck took a roll
And suddenly Buddy had a shot on goal
The goalie committed, Buddy picked his spot
Twenty years of waiting went into that shot
The fans jumped up, the Finn jumped too
And coldcoughed Buddy on his followthrough
The big man crumbled but he fell all right
'Cause the last thing he saw
was the flashing red light
He saw that heavenly light
There were Swedes to the left of him
Russians to the right
A Czech at the blue line looking for a fight
Take care of your teeth--that might work for you
But what's a Canadian farm boy to do?
What else can a farm boy from Canada do?
But what's a Canadian farm boy to do?
What else can a farm boy from Canada do?
Yeah, Aubie, I heard about that version of dutch oven on this list the other night :)
THT,
Try these CR songs - Smell the Color 9, When Did You Fall in Love with Me, The Cartoon Song, Smellin' Coffee.
Aubie knows, but for others, the above song is by Warren Zevon and was recorded in Ed Sullivan theater with Paul Shaffer's band and with David Letterman providing background vocals (consisting of "Hit somebody!" at the approrpiate times.
)
THT,
HIT SOMEBODY!!!!
(That's Letterman with Zevon by the way.)
Cincy - I'll check those out tomorrow, or tonight if Game 7 is a repeat of Game 5.
Beat me to it
THTjr, MissTHT, and I were in that arena for Game 1 last year. The Penguins were terrible in that game, but it was still an amazing experience. I can't imagine attending a Game 7. I'd be wetting my breeches.
Tonight is going to be a good game, I can feel it! Hopefully they won't leave two stranded like the Braves just did, or whatever is comparable in hockey.
oh well, hope it was worth it
JGT - Silver Comet Trail is pretty nice, I've run a handful of organized races there but it's just so danged inconvenient for me. As I recall they recently opened it up all the way to the Anniston vicinity.
Mon - yes, 10 pounds. Added together, and you have an admitted 20 pounds worth.
What if...
Tray blackmon could skate.
Ever watch Pavarotti sing Nessun Dorma?
RED WINGS RED WINGS RED WINGS!!!!!!!!
That is all.
Tebow on ice
Imagine
/just sayin
Really good 1st period, that was. The Red Wings are are are being as physical as possible in this one.
Hi Cotton,
That was IN TENTS!
Greg, that reminds me of the old Bo Knows commercials
Gretzky: "Uh, no."
This game has SEC quality hits
They just need about 75,000 more people at the game
Tomorrow will be the start of a long dry spell. No hockey, no CFB.
THT
I loved those ads
/raced Bo at pregame when I was a kid
//gave us a 40 yd head start
///he still won
////easily
I was a quick kid too!
I saw you there, Greg! I was jealous they didn't let old folks out there, too.
It's a shame they don't do stunts like that now
I woulda LOVED to race Caddy or RB
/they would have beat me worse
//GOAL!
THT,
I tuned in just in time to see the score!!!
That looked pretty fun!
I wish the puck was as big as a football so I could see it. That Pens goalie better stay in front of his goal. He makes me nervous when he goes behind the goal.
Sheer violence and speed
I'm gonna miss hockey
/86 days?
Folks, Dover Sole menuiere, creamed spinach, wedge salad.
Oh, Brother, you are making me hungry. I don't think this blog is good for my diet.
Greg,
Only 85 and close to being 84.
Grilled salmon, garlic mashed potatoes, some kind of funky salad and a largish drink involving some Tequila.
FWIW, my favorite "Bo Knows" commercials were the one's with Gretzky and BB.
Pugh & Ziemba
2nd line
We may not win the game
But they would limp outta the stadium
GOAL!!
2-0
Pens
tequila + strawberry stuff = strawberry margarita
coming up!
Thx Cincy!
There were definitely Margaritas at our table, but they weren't Strawberry.
Anyone else having storms? We are having the most incredible straight line winds that I have ever seen. Very unnerving.
i hear the blender
no storms in west virginia
"The emphasis of Tennessee's new coaching staff on recruiting has come with a price tag. UT's 2009 signing class has cost $1,099,513.16 so far, according to records obtained by the News Sentinel. Recruiting expenses are most often associated with coaches' travel and hosting official visitors. With 22 commitments, UT spent almost $50,000 per signee. Under Lane Kiffin's direction, UT spent $835,908.47 from Dec. 1 to National Signing Day on Feb. 4."

Mon
Strawberry Harvest Abita here
Goodness
Homemade
vanilla
ice
cream!
Big bowl coming right up!
Later we'll have Patron and raw sweet basil shots
Don't knock it til ya tried it
mmmm Greg that sounds yummy. My Greg says he's never even heard of Abita. Now he's on another beer mission!
We are grillin and chillin Saturday evening. Also cranking out some homemade oreo ice cream.
I wonder how much Alabama has spent on recruiting so far? Cash is very hard to get an accurate number on.
I think Greg may divorce me if I play Dream Weaver one more time.
:-)
WTC - I've recently been informed that we too are grilling and chilling tomorrow night with some neighbors. He REALLY, REALLY likes food so I'd imagine he wouldn't be against breaking out the ice cream machine. Thanks for the suggestion.
I'm sure there is a clear accounting record of it somewhere, depressed!
Abita is Louisiana based
They also make TurboDog and Purple Haze
Seriously, it would be hard to put a price tag on how much top-line players are worth to a big-time football school. Tennessee has to recruit out-of-state for much of their talent, so I would imagine their travel bills are higher than several other SEC schools.
Wow! Just after I typed that last entry we lost power. Back on, but flickering. Neighbors have lost two trees. I have never seen wind like this and I have been in several tornadoes and two hurricanes.
THT, sorry I missed that second goal :(
Btw. Patron, salt & raw sweet basil buds are incredible
Not in that order though
I wish Detroit all the best
But I cannot cheer for red and white
It is against my upbringing
Monica,
I think one time thru with Dream Weaver is all Tom could handle, but I love that song.
Don't ahve the AUundercover but the headlines read like the passing camp went well and a couple athletes were very impressed with AU and also got offers.
Rivals headline says the Mincy kid put AU way ahead and may be ready to commit. Anybody got more info they can pass along?
Instrumental Dream Weaver seems better than original Dream Weaver somehow
Perhaps it's the tequila
Mon-Great song. I was in 7th grade when this came out (i think).
WTC,
Such a baby. I was a junior in high school :(
Wait a minute, WTC. I am only 2 years older than you - it either came out later than you thought or earlier than I thought.
Wow Cincy that's a crazy looking storm!
Dream Weaver - 1975 and I loved it back then. Why did I love this song when I was 9 years old? Odd.
It's a great tune.
Cincy-I graduated HS in 1980 so I think I was in the 7th grade in 1975.
Sports with countdown timers rule
Greg you are funny and more than a little spazzy.
According to Kansas State I have violated an NCAA regulation and that's all I'm saying about that.
But is it a Secondary Violation?
I was looking at songs released in 1974 and that was a very good year.
