First post: Wednesday of Week Five
Hey everyone. Thanks for tolerating yesterdat our new BFF ikarl67. He apparently is a bitter Iowa fan who is disgusted with me ranking the Hawkeyes at 22 in the most recent AP poll.
I kept telling him to email me and not subject himself to HOTTIE beat-downs. He eventually listened. Thanks to all for keeping it civil, though I had no idea you could be so creative with corn allusions.
Here's the Auburn situation at this moment:

TODAY'S SCHEDULE
I generally don't go to Auburn on Wednesday, but this one is different. I'm interested to hear what Trooper Taylor has to say about returning to Knoxville. You know he's good for a tale or two.
So I'll be summarizing what assistant coaches have to say after practice. That should be a gas.
Here's what the next few days look like. All times are CDT:
Wed., Sept. 30, 4:30 p.m. (Assistant coaches available afterward)
Thu., Oct. 1, 4:30 p.m. (Tiger Talk at 7 p.m.)
Fri., Oct. 2, OFF
Sat., Oct. 3, at Tennessee, 6:45 p.m. (ESPN)
Sun., Oct. 4, 5 p.m.
Mon., Oct. 5, OFF
Tue., Oct. 6, 4:30 p.m. (Chizik presser at 11:30 a.m.; some players available at 11:50 a.m.)
Wed., Oct. 7, 4:30 p.m.
Thu., Oct. 8, 4:30 (Tiger Talk at 7 p.m.)
Fri., Oct. 9, OFF
Sat., Oct. 10, at Arkansas, time TBA (network TBA)

PPL!
actually, i'm faster than PPL. BOOYAH!
Go scottie
Scottie making up for DROPPING the Beasley post. NO DROPS!
NO DROPS! not this weekend.
This Buds for you DeAngelo Benton....NO DROPS!
What is everyone's fascination with PPL, the dude has played all of one kick off...?
I wanna see PPL and I hope he can catch and run.
I really hope after wishing to see him for over a year he is not total crap
Sean- Did you not see the one kickoff, it was....
I've never understood the PPL love either.
i'm just trying to change it up from posting FAH, Sean. :)
The only valid reason to question a voter is if you think there is biased voting.
But FAH is awesome
For the record, I don't get the PPL thing.
It's a good moniker, though. PPL.
PPL was billed to be a game changer on special teams when he came here. He played at a big time florida school with much success doing that in the return game. I believe that is where the hype stems from, at least for me. Could he be a complete dud, absolutely, but can he be any worse than what we have out there right now? That would be hard to do.
I just want to win. I don't care who it is. If PPL is the second coming of Devin Hester...awesome.
If not then we should all abandon the PPL is a difference maker deal that so many fans seem to be stuck on.
Hype - it is what it is.
ie "The Bull"
Bring back Joe Walkins.
The Bull will get better. I expect to see him in his element this week.
Jumping Jack Trooper
He's a gas gas gas!
He is lost in the big pasture
No so sure about the bull right now.
Beasley!!!
Well...Fred Beasley at least.
RK, you so just ruined the Ronnie Brown post. how sad.
The bull is having a hard time finding his way around the pasture right now.
Fred Beasley and his jumping and streatching his arm out for a TD late in the 1997 Iron Bowl should never be dismissed.
I think the UT offense will play into his strengths...crashing the gaps and not worrying about getting lost in space. I think this will be his coming out party.
RBs from the Gump shall not be dissed on this Blog!
Long live Fred Beasley!
Long live Joe Frazier!
Long live Don Timmons!
Long live Davis Hooper!
Speaking of 97, the 97 championship game is coming on TV sometime today I believe or this week if not. To think I was so close to a big fat SEC Championship Ring instead of the 2nd place ring I now own.
i know, those diamonds would've looked really nice.
That's good Eddie, let it fuel the hate for UT...
Don Timmons!
I wanna see PPL healthy, wherever he can play.
Maybe some day we'll see Harry Adams or T'sharvan Bell on catching duties.
If Brad Ware makes one tackle on Peerless Price we win that championship.
If (name redacted) doesn't clang like Hells Bells right before halftime, it's over.
Does it somewhat rhyme was "Carson Dailey"?
My love for PPL comes because he lived in the same city as me and went to St. Thomas Academy which is the dominant program in the nation right now...I saw him play several times In HS once e gets an inch of room he's gone
Agreed RK & Jet. I was so darn sure we were going to win that game. It was a good halftime and it felt like we go out and take care of business. Oh well.
Of course the negative 17 yards rushing didn't help.
You all know I don't have any personal investment in Auburn, but I'm even excited to see this game.
Not because I care how Auburn performs. I just want to see Malzahn vs. Monte Kiffin.
I think that'll be fun.
I'm interested in seeing how we react to a hostile crowd vs the 1st real defense we've played all year against a team who really can't afford to lose this game.
We really really need to win this one...if only for me, Scottie & Eddie.
i can't come to work next week if we lose. it would get really ugly.
Jay G ...
I can understand why ... big game atmosphere ... the chess match. I hope you get to tailgate on the river.
Eddie/RK ...
I shall not mention his name ... I only wish his name would be erased from the AU record books for reasons that Eduardo and I have discussed ex parte.
Ima find my way to the deck of a BOAT.
i didn't realize it has been 15 years since both AU & Bama started a season 4-0. 1994.
yup, our boat fell through JG. stupid boat maintenance my a**!
Wow, that's hard to believe.
I graduated HS in 94...so that's been awhile.
Come on JGT... Stockholm Synd.
Even a captive starts to have feelings for thier kidnaper...
You gotta have some sort of identity to AU......
A coach that knock off Florida in 2007 is not asleep at the wheel. A coach that replaces his offensive coordinator in favor of a risky new offense is not asleep at the wheel. A coach that fires his offensive coordinator in the middle of the season.
It seems like it is some of the Auburn fan base that is asleep or simply subscribing to the Bama eat your own philosophy.
I was screaming for Auburn to let TN score at the end of the game with over a minute to play. TN wasn't taking a knee, they were still handing off and running. All we had to do was let them score and kick the extra point - 37-29. We could have gotten the ball back, scored and made a 2 point conversion and headed for overtime.
That Bowden didn't think of it was the beginning of the end for him.
Jay, I'm glad you're excited about the game, for any reason. ;)
I think Tony Franklin was responsible for a lot of the PPL hype. He used his injury as an excuse for the offense being dismal in the first game last year; said that much of the offense went thru PPL and when I got hurt that limited what they could do.
Jet, that was a great post at the end of the last thread. Its a shame it fell off into the end-of-thread graveyard.
Dang Steve, here we are rolling one one subject and you derail the train :)!
Agreed Jet!
I'm interested to see how PPL can contribute, but I'd take the hype any player received in '08 with a grain of salt.
Coosa,
Bowden's beginning of the end started long before the SEC title game.
Steve being the Tub advocate comes to save the day.
Steve,
I love ya, man, but let's end the Tubs colored glasses.
It was what it was.
Let's be sharks...always swimming forward.
The PPL thing will be interesting. Just like with Todd, CTF could turn out to be right. I am not sure if punt returns is where he belongs. I typically prefer the smaller faster returners on kickoffs. I prefer punt returners to have a bit more beef on their bones, but there is a lot of room for improvement there, so anything is possible.
More than likely it is Gulley or Washington because PPL has been out so long, but I would like to at least see him get in the game some. With his kind of speed, it is another opportunity to stretch the field.
DL: Man, I so don't have feelings for Auburn. It's a job. I'm glad I have it and all, but my goal in life is to kick it with my girls. I don't do this for love of the game.
Sensi, as long as people continue to make seemingly delusional comments, I will respond.
Steve- Does that mean you are going to respond to Tubs when he questioned the hiring of Malzahn because Nutt didn't like him???
SFC, that same coach who 'knocked off Florida in 2007' had already allowed his team to be woefully underprepared for not one, not two but, the first 3 games of the 2007 season - all at home, all of which we were prohibitive favorites. This with a 3rd-year starter at QB and some serious talent on both sides of the ball, plus two coordinators with proven records of success.
You can say a lot about Tubs, good and bad, but one thing you can't say is that his teams were never consistent, outside of one season in ten.
Well, I take it back - last year we were consistently awful. So make it two seasons in ten.
Wow, someone saying that we had serious talent although others have said we had no talent. The delusional comments continue.
Steve people on here make semi-delusional comments on here every day, including you.
However you only seem to spring to action when comments are made in a negative light about anything Tommy did in his 10 years at Auburn.
It's like you take it personal.
RK, you're right. Very poorly worded on my part.
And even more delusional is that he made a change due to our struggles on offense, which means he wasn't asleep at the wheel. Man, these arguments are bizarre.
Steve has said here often that Auburn will take 5 years to get the depth and talent back to where it was under Chizik, but yet why would it take 5 years if Tubs left it so stocked? I like Steve, but he is now Teflon Steve. Good luck getting any valid points to stick :)!!!
He made the change and our offense got worse.
Tommy of 1999-2004 and Tommy of 2006-2008 were two different coaches. The fire appeared to be gone. The record stayed good in 06 & 07, but there was still something missing except for a moment or two here and there.
Might I retask this train and remind everyone that the Orange-cicle nation is gunning for us this weekend?
This bunch of nuts describes their offense as "high-powered but unbalanced."
Crompton? High-powered interception machine?
Now that is delusional.
OK, maybe Tubs wasn't asleep at the wheel.
But the program still ended up in the ditch.
do i need to bring out my Trooper Towel and whack yall in the head?
it's TENNESSEE week. the school who told us we can't have Tiger Walk. re-evaluate and hate. HATE big.
did i mention that on the local morning radio show one host said it would be a travesty if UT couldn't score 30 points on our horrible defense? let that sink in a moment.
HATE. it's good for ya.
Steve, we get it. You like Tommy.
I like Tommy, we all still like Tommy.
He wasn't perfect, nor was he a great coach. He was a good coach who had one great season. His time at Auburn will be remembered fondly.
When he left, he left Auburn a better place than when he got there.
However, when he left the fire wasn't there anymore. It was time to move on.
Oh and HATE UAT AND UT!
I grew weary months ago of seeing any Tubs (or Franklin related) discussion. My weariness on this topic has not improved. I'm pretty sure he's no longer coaching at AU and for that matter, I'm pretty sure he's not coaching anywhere. He was the coach at AU and now he's not. Let's move on.
Hate....It's what's for breakfast.
RK, in general I hold Auburn people to a higher standard and do not trash good Auburn people, such as Tuberville or Franklin. I realize that people make mistakes and that Tuberville obviously made a mistake hiring Franklin. I have also acknowledged that Tuberville had basically lost the team last season due to getting the team on the same page, but to continually say childish things like we had no talent because or recruiting and then we had a ton of talent but no coaching ....blah blah blah...is just silly. Things didn't work out. Tuberville was a great coach but made mistakes.
Remember, many of you were bashing the hiring of Chizik also. We need a leader, not a loser seems to have been the tone of the day, and then the ignorance of the statement is revealed.
CTF is successful at MTSU although good ole Auburn people continue to trash him even after their ignorance is revealed.
Auburn fans trashed Jason Campbell until 2004, when their ignorance was revealed.
Auburn fans trashed Brandon Cox until their ignorance was revealed in 2008 and they realized they lost a lot better QB than we had on the roster. People spent the season saying play Kodi because Cox sux.
Auburn fans trashed Todd while he played injured and even booed him. This year their ignorance is also revealed.
It is a long running story.
By the way, Boulware may end up getting added to that list.
Jay I don't care whether you are an Auburn fan or not. Just keep up the good jounalism and accurate information.
That and being with Auburn Alum and Fans are why I keep coming here.
I think it was a bama fan that made that video at the airport, seriously
Yeah Monte is a mastermind, Gus will be tested
Steve,
Once a week or so you cause my head to explode.
Nobody trashed Tommy Tuberville. People said that during his last couple of years he didn't seem to have the control of his team that he had in the past.
It's an opinion. It may be right, it may be wrong, however it is allowed. Jay G. allows us to have discussion about pretty much anything within reason on here, including allowing you to defend all that is Thomas Hawley Tuberville.
Tub was discussed earlier because he was on the radio, then we moved on...then like Tommy's Knight in Shining Armor you arrive after the party to defend him yet again.
Fans say and do stupid stuff out of frustration or out of anger...it happens.
This isn't the AL.com forum. If you went there then you'd probably go postal. What happens here isn't bashing, it's a discussion with some sarcasm thrown in.
"Tuberville was a great coach"
I disagree with your adjective. I'd say he was a good coach, but we've had that debate before.
RK, you are very humorous because I am not sure how discussion is suppose to mean hearing only what you want to hear. Learn to live with other opinions.
SFC, you make good points in your last post.
However, before I jump off this particular topic, I would take exception to one thing you said: I don't consider Tony Franklin a 'good Auburn man'. Not a value judgement, merely a fact. He said himself he had reservations about taking the job, and he has no feelings one way or the other about his term of employment. He has shown no loyalty to AU, nor should we show any loyalty towards him. He was a hired gun who couldn't hit the target, for a number of reasons that weren't all his fault. It happens.
Think of it this way: Tony Franklin is no more or less a 'good Auburn man' than Jay G. Tate. The difference being is that JGT has been very good at his job for over 10 years, while TF failed miserably at his job in just 10 months.
I like chocolate.
and The Rolling Stones
Can't we all just get along?!
haha, no really, Steve you are king of starting the dead horse beatings. The only beatings occuring should be those to folks wearing the Home Depot orange.
Long time no talk, hope everyone is well. Don't be surprised if a certain recruit switches his commitment from one of our rivals to Auburn in the near future. AU 31-20.
BEASLEY! (THT, you're welcome)
Steve,
Did I ever say your opinion was wrong?
No, I just said I disagreed with it. I just said Jay G. allows us to post our opinions on here. You seem to be the one having a hard time to deal with people who have a different opinion about Tub than you. It's like the commish rings the phone at the Steve Cave every time Tub's name is mentioned.
I'm really not sure what you meant by "I am not sure how discussion is suppose to mean hearing only what you want to hear." Because I agree and disagree with stuff on this page every day, that's what makes it great.
Don't trash the Home Depot like that.
They pay for the Atlanta Falcons to continually give false hope to their fanbase.
War Eagle
Go Tigers
Blast them Big Blue
BEAT THEM VOLS LIKE A WHUPPED HOUND DOG
Here is one bizarre football play.
Home Depot is actually more AU or UF orange. think orange creamsicles. yummy.
If we're gonna play Tommy and Tony again, I'll see y'all later.
I've got some UT to hate. And probably some work to do.
I didn't refer to Franklin as a good Auburn man, just an Auburn man. I think he hated his time on the plains for good reason. Assigning the blame is pointless. It is just fair to say he wasn't a good fit.
"A high school football game ended tragically this weekend"
Someone redefines the word tragic in the article on that link.
Franklin - hired gun.
Sorry, but true. He's no more an Auburn man than Bobby Petrino.
Just my opinion.
Back to hating UT.
Where is Michael when we need some randomness to retask the train?
Sensi,
Chocolate is really good stuff. You just have to get your assistants to buy into it, then produce at a fast tempo, wearing down your competitors.
The Rolling Stones are excellent, but could get pushed around on the line. They need to get with the Yox program and bulk up a bit.
There were also people that hated Chizik, because he left for Texas. I am not sure how they resolve that one in their minds.
Boulware is someone we should stick behind. I am not certain of the causes of our special team woes, but the coaches should be given the opportunity to work things out.
Often people want to trash someone before giving them a chance to resolve a situation. Often they are proven wrong by overreacting. It is just better to let Chizik evaluate Boulware and trust him to make the right decision. After all, he is closer to the situation.
I'm sure Michael is being held hostage by those puppets...
The mission for the offense this weekend...play fast, don't let the crowd get in the game, find Eric Berry and avoid him.
In other news, xCTT said that UT had no chance of beating us because we just had better players. He said they would struggle to run the ball and their defense didn't have the playmakers to slow down the Malzahn offense.
Take that for what it's worth.
Eric Berry is only one guy, he can easily be avoided. We played against him last year and were able to steer clear with the inept offensive staff we had. I'm sure Gus knows what up.
Listening to radio and reading up on Nick Reviez. He was the signal caller for the Vols and they are looking for someone to replace him on that D. That's a huge task especially if we can get in there and get the ball snapped quickly we can catch them confused a lot.
Steve- I have yet to hear one fan, at lest on this board, demand the firing of Boulware. I think some, including me, have suggested that he start earning his paycheck.
Is this the drama club????
Anyways, I'm ready to see PPL this week! Beat UT!
Reckon how many IROC-Zs will be in the parking lot blaring Warrent this weekend in Knoxland?
Sensi, saying Franklin is not an Auburn man is probably a fair statement. I don't think he ever bought in, which is likely part of the issue.
On to more immediate things, such as Boulware and the special teams. It is nice to see that we haven't had a punt blocked in the last two games. I have been watching for it, and haven't seen anything to concern me yet.
Kickoffs is another concern. I don't care who is back there returning kickoffs, we can't kick the ball out of bounds. That is giving the opponent the ball at the 40 and really stinks. It use to be that was just a 5 yard penalty and a re-kick. Now it is more like a 20 yard penalty.
"Cherry Pie" is a solid record Sensi. don't diss Warrant. ;)
I told you folks I was tired of this blasted "discussion" concerning former coaches. I'm going to finish eating my lunch, read some news and split this scene to play some golf. Please, please wrap up this discussion today and be done with it.
Norm- Where you playing today?
SFC, in your post above you said "good Auburn people, like Tuberville or Franklin". That's where I got it from.
Your points about Chizik and Boulware are spot on. While some of us here and elsewhere questioned if Chiz was the best we could do under the circumstances, many so-called AU 'fans' declared him a failure from the get-go. That was clearly in appropriate even at the time.
As for Boulware, I don't think he is the major problem on with our ST units. I also think Chiz will give him plenty of time and guidance in an effort to turn things around.
Norm,
Is this all former coaches or just ones with the initials TT?
I just want to confirm.
I have seen someone on here wanting Boulware fired, but I don't want to continue that discussion.
I am anxious to see PPL too, although since he hasn't played in over a year and then it was only one kick, it makes me a bit nervous.
I hope the coaches pick a kick returner and stick with him. That could be Gulley or Washington or possibly even PPL. We just need to develop some consistency there even though it may take being patient with whoever they choose.
Jani Lane wants to end his life for writing that. I heard him say that in an interview.
I took the Auburn man home test, but I won't know the results for 30 days. Can't wait to see what turns up!
If we consistently give UT a 60 yard field to play with, then we are just handing an offense that's struggling a helping hand by limiting what our D can do.
If we get the kickoff coverage down, then our D is at a decided advantage and can probably rattle Crompton into bad throws.
Thanks Michael. We missed you.
RK, I didn't realize I referred to Franklin as a good Auburn person. You are correct. Occasionally my fingers get ahead of my brain.
Does anyone know if Caudle is on the Scout team simulating Crompton?
I am not a coach nor have I ever been. My two cents worth. I think the worse thing you can do is pull a guy because of a mistake. It hurts his confidnece as well as the teams. Yes I was screaming get him out of there but that is wrong. If a player is getting it done in practice to the point you put him in the game you got to give him a chance.
Hey folks. Don't forget to download the latest Auburn Football Insider Podcast for FREE from ITunes and rate us.
Checking in... hating UT... hoping for an impromptu Tiger Walk Anyway... and did I mention hating UT? War Eagle.
Micheal, there's an instant test. If the blue and orange plus sign appears, you're an Auburn man. The drawback is that Steve has to watch you take the test.
As for Chizik, I am not saying that I thought he would be great when he was hired. I will say that by this summer I thought he had done a great job based upon the decisions that he made and that I see why Jacobs hired him.
I like the coaches Chizik chose, and more importantly that they fit together. I just get the feeling these coaches respect each other. I do judge a lot of this by second and third hand information, but I saw hints of trouble before last season. I saw no hint of it this season.
My position was basically wait and see when Chizik was hired.
I would assume it wouldn't be Caudle, however he'd be a good candidate.
Truthfully when left alone, Crompton seems to make really nice throws, but if he is rolling out or under pressure he forces them in there.
Plus UT's receivers haven't helped him out tipping some balls that have been picked.
I just failed the spelling portion of the test. Sorry, Michael.
Lunch time.
digger, very well put. It is knee-jerk reactions that allow problems to persist. That is why I think Gulley deserves a bit more time.
Hasn't Caudle been simulating Crompton in practice for a couple of years straight?
Crompton + Pressure = GOOD THINGS FOR AUBURN.
Kiffin didn't give Crompton the highest praise yesterday after practice. i can't remember the exact quotes, though. if we can get to him we'll be in good shape.
S FC I am the worlds worst knee-jerk artist. But looking back if the coaches had just stuck with some one maybe it would have worked out.
RK, I agree Crompton looks good at times and when reviewing their Ohio game initially I was wondering why he was being criticized. Then a little pressure came and I saw. Also, there was one play he ran the wrong way. The rest of the team were headed in the other direction.
Crompton and Caudle for that matter, need to learn the value of a well placed pass into the stands. Cox also sometimes made the same mistake and held onto the ball too long or forced something.
We have advantages at many positions in this game.
Our o-line vs. their d-line is a good match up.
Our RBs vs. their thin/inexperienced LB corps.
Malzhan vs. Monte is very intriguing.
We have them beat on AU women vs. UT women. HANDS DOWN!
I understand an unidentified co-ed will be at practice simulating Layla Kiffin.
Gulley deserves another shot at Punt Returner, just not this year. When you fumble 30% of the time, you need to see the bench.
I never did get to see that Layla Kiffin picture, Oh well I'm too old to worry about that. Need to worry about important things like where the hell did I put my glasses.
Can we agree that Boulware has worked wonders for Wes Byrum? Keep him. The problem with catching punts is psychological and I don't know you can blame him for that. The coverage units are the one thing I think he is not doing all that well at, but we have very little depth which is giving him headaches. Still, not time to fire the guy or anything.
The knee-jerk stuff is something I think really hurt Kodi in the past. I don't think he has played a game at QB where he wasn't afraid one mistake would get him pulled.
It is one of the things I admired about Todd last season. He didn't seem to get rattled because he was pulled out of the game, while Kodi always seemed to take more time to get back into the game.
Layla,
You got me on my knees.
Layla,
Your husband is a sleaze.
Layla...
I am aware of the instant Auburn Man test Scott Chocolate, but I preferred to take the one where you pee on a picture of Nick Saban and send it to a lab. The 30 days is worth it.
I agree Michael. I am not saying Boulware is good or bad. I am just saying I don't know yet.
Layla,
Did I mention I hate UAT?
Layla,
Is it cold where you are standing?
Layla...
Being a high scoring team we would get more benefit from improving kick off coverage than any thing else. IT STINKS LIKE KNOXVILLE DOWN BY THE RIVER.
Post of the day Michael.
In that case, I think I'll retake the test just for fun, Michael. I am also inspired to see if I can get some Saban-cakes for the urinals here at work.
By the way, Kiffikin is a good example of a coach that would have upset me. While I admired how Chizik handled the team even before the season started, if I were a UT fan I would have been wondering if my head coach had the maturity to coach.
By the way, that does not mean that Steve watched me take the instant test. I had an alumni exemption.
Kiffin is the opposite of Fulmer and the Tennessee fans love that. They eat it up.
Michael- Thanks for the awesomeness.
"Layla" is such a great song, and I love the piano solo by SteveFC at the end.
After looking for a bit, I have decided this is the best Saban picture for the urinal cakes we will start selling soon, Scott Chocolate:
http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_7OC0YbG2fek/R_9YmzlIoBI/AAAAAAAAFgs/FkiYn_wJykg/s400/NickSaban.jpg
He is like, "Seriously, you are here again? I mean, come on, this is getting ridiculous. "
Michael, I couldn't get that url to work. By the way, our chocolate urinal cakes are probably our worst selling product. I'm sure sales will go up when we add Saban's face to them, though. We will be selling them slightly used to all Bama fans.
Didn't work for me either
Copying and Pasting that link works for me. I can't believe you guys went and made me do the html link thing I refuse to do. Shame on all of you.
it worked for me michael. kudos.
Now that worked. Looks like he is pleading to be pizz on.
That link worked for me michael. Is that some kind of alternative touchdown gesture Saban is doing, or is it a why me?
I think I read where the middle LB that will be starting for UT is a true freshman that was begging for a offer from AU last year and never got one. I think his last name is Nigel or has that in his last name.
It's a sign!
It's the Touchdown Saban! He's leaving for Notre Dame.
Tell every Cousin Humper you know. It will ruin their day -- their favorite work day since it is Hump Day.
Michael, that pic is perfect! I think I will create and install the Saban-cakes this week.
I just read where Boise State will likely go undefeated. The remaining teams on their schedule aren't ranked in the top 75. It should mean an interesting controversy at the end of the season after the mormons got snubbed last season.
Here is CFN Predictions:
CFN Week 5 Predictions
Pickem is much easier this week.
There was an Iowa beat down yesterday and I missed it?
Dang!! That's what I get for leaving the house at 5 in the morning and not getting home till after 9 at night - all for my stupid job. That will teach me.
LT
I like CFN's result, but their write up would lead me to think it would be a larger score.
Agreed RK.
The freshman LB in question is Nigel Mitchell-Thornton, who also happens to be the 42nd Earl of Earnhardt, which elevated him to the starting position over more experienced players.
Actually, he's a true freshman, who enrolled in January. He's from Stone Mountain, Ga., and played at Stephenson High School.
I want some white chocolate.
How 'bout some Hot Chocolate?
"I believe in miraces ... since ya came along ... you sexy thang!"
Jet, when I first heard that song, I thought they were saying, "I believe in milkshakes."
I saw an episode of "Unwrapped" last night that featured breakfast corndogs.
It had a sausage on the inside and an outer shell made of pancakes.
Perfect for early games at LSU, no?
LSU has early games? i thought they had exclusive rights with the SEC for night games at Tiger Stadium.
SARCASM!!!!!!!!!!!!
that makes me want a McGriddle. yum. and i haven't had one of those in years.
Count Chocula ...
I believe in milkshakes, and because Auburn men and women believe in them, I believe in Auburn and love it.
Mrs. Jet made french toast for dinner last night ... I asked if could get the full Hardee's commercial treatment ... she said no.
Again.
Love me some brinner.
I could seriously enjoy a milkshake and a breakfast corndog right now. I am starving, but sitting here waiting on a phone call instead of going to lunch.
Au1292 I will be suprised who do you think it will be? Grant? No way
I'm not waitin' on a lady, I'm just waitin' on some brinner.
JayG- A restaurnat out east, 16 Hampstead, serves conecuh sausage dipped in batter and fried on a stick. It is a Conecuh sausage corndog. I went once. Too expensive for me.
wtc, you're killin' me!
Mary Louise Parker on the hotness scale
Discuss
She's a stone fox.
stone or stoned?
MLP - 6.5, 7 tops for me.
Loganville, there was a wonderful Iowa beat down in here yesterday and very informative. I have lead a sheltered life. I didn't know that Iowa fans are called cornpones.
Stone, but I can see why you'd think that with Weeds.
I just googled Mary Louise Parker. It wasn't that great.
She's a southern classy type imho
I like cornpones with molasses.
She's no Elizabeth Shue, that I'll give you.
If Iowa are cornpons what is Iowa State?
Oh, that's right, losers. I forgot.
My guess is that if we get ahead by a couple of touchdowns, Kiffikin will take his ball and go home.
We talkin' Karate Kid Shue or Leaving Las Vegas Shue?
Either way, I still think I plump for MLP.
Iowa State is 3-1. Those hurricanes are blowing hard this season.
Love the Avatar Sensi BTW - one of (if not) my favorite westerns....
Cornpones huh - I think I would relocate to a different state.
Good point, Bro. Shue has aged well in my opinion, but the KK Shue was hotter. Especially the Cocktail version.
MLP is fairly consistent.
Hurricanes?
Chizik said he wasn't buying stock in this team, which got me to thinking about how this team is doing as a stock. Stock traders use 2 basic methods for evaluating stocks - Fundamental Analysis and Technical Analysis. In FA, you look at everything about what the company is doing, financial condition, and chances of making money in the future. In TA, you only look at the movements in price. Its based on the idea that stock prices are controlled by people, and people behave in a predictable manner. Some consider it voodoo, but it actually works very well until it doesn't work.
Everything posted on the HABOTN is FA; I think its time to apply a little TA.
So we scored 37 in game 1, a nice starting point. Then game 2 we move up to 49. This is obviously a great trend, you want to buy stocks that are going up. Game 3, we drop back to 41. This is nothing to be alarmed about - no stock goes straight up. But what you want to see when it pulls back is a higher low. 41 is above 37, so the pullback was actually quite healthy.
Then in game 4, we jumped to 54. This is a great move because now we have made a higher high. The trend is definitely up, and things looks great at the moment. But for those waiting to buy, here's what to look for - a pullback will be no problem, but we need to score above 41 so that we make another higher low. Scoring below 41 would be bad; scoring below 37 would make us a definite sell. If we score above 54, then that indicates we are about to go parabolic and you need to drink all the koolaid you can get down.
All FA is irrelevant.
Lets turn this thing.
